The European Union is preparing sanctions against officials in Belarus who are responsible for a deadly post-election crackdown on protesters, the EU foreign affairs chief, Josep Borrell, has said.
The green light was given by the 27 EU foreign ministers during a video conference in Brussels on Friday, while protests across Belarus over the controversial August 9 election continued for a sixth day.

These are nationalistic flags which were used during the occupation of the Germans in WWI and in WWII. The organization of the opposition was historically founded by Polish Belorussians, that is why the colors are white and red. Many of the leaders of this organization were collaborators with the SS and nazis. Today western democracies sponsor this organization. I am myself Belorussian I will never stand under this fascist flag.
It is the flag of the Belarusian independence movement in the beginning of the 20th century. Under this flag the First All-Belarusian congress of 1917 took place, during which the delegates called for creating an independent Belarusian state. From 1991 to 1995 it was the official state flag of Belarus but it was abolished by Lukashenko because he is very pro-Russian and hates everything which is associated with Belarusian national culture.

Not any state ever did recognize the BNR state, the only state that was recognized and received a seat in the UN was the Belarussian socialist soviet republic.
Also the BNR didn’t had an army, it didn’t have any control on the borders. It was a romantic vision of Polish Belorussians to make a state of their own.
The Belorussians founded the USSR and our country has become a state because of the USSR, a prosperous industrial state.
As last, the referendum in 1991 proved that Belorussians didn’t want to dissolve the Soviet Union. It has never been in the interest of the Belorussians to dissolve their own state that they had founded.
