1. In early August, DeJoy claimed that the US Postal Service’s financial position was dire, with no end in sight. But when he testified before Congress he said that USPS did not need any money. Why did he change his story?
2. If, as he claimed, the USPS does NOT need money, why did he order the removal of sorters and drop boxes, and eliminate overtime pay to postal workers? This is particularly troubling in the middle of a pandemic and the run up to the election, when millions of mail-in ballots will be in play.
3. DeJoy was asked many times if he would restore the sorters and drop boxes, and he answered unequivocally, “NO” each time. DeJoy’s handlers lead all the way into the Oval Office, and they know how important the sorters are in this election, so his answer MUST ALWAYS BE “NO!”
4. The House has requested documents to validate DeJoy’s actions. Will he comply or will they quake? Will they subpoena DeJoy?
There are questions that need answers. Please write Congress — house.gov —and demand that they follow-up with DeJoy for documents and records that justify his actions and his legitimacy.
