A ceasefire agreed by Armenia and Azerbaijan has come into effect at noon local time (08:00 GMT) to end nearly two weeks of heavy fighting over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
It follows two weeks of intense fighting over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The deal was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov after talks in Moscow.

The cease fire shoudlve been today at 12:00 and it didnt even last 10 minutes. At 12:05 Azeris started firing again and war goes on yet again. Nagorno-Karabakh declared its independence on September 2, 1991. Azerbaijan declared its independence on October 18, 1991.

You got the basic fact wrong. Azerbaijan’s first independence declaration was in 1918. That’s recognized as foundation of Azerbaijan. Which is why, later when Soviets took Azerbaijan again, it was known as Azerbaijan Soviets Socialist republic.

In 1991 Azerbaijan declared independence AGAIN.

The only option that the weaker side (smaller population/army/budget) Armenia have is to generate lots of fake news and try to win the PR war and thus somehow convince powerful countries to put pressure on Azerbaijan. Armenia is advantageous on the PR side especially considering the big Armenian diaspora in America, Russia and France. When this is coupled with the fact that Turks always had strong enemies throughout the history such as Russians, Iranians and even some European countries like France, there will be a number of countries which will be very responsive to Armenia’s fake news and will immediately amplify them. We can see this happening since the start of hostilities in the last couple of weeks. But the difficulty that Armenia has and will continue to have is to prove the fake news. Some of the examples of Armenian fake news is Azerbaijan bringing in Jihadists from Syria. But the question of “Why would the 100,000 strong Azeri army, which is equipped with sophisticated weapons, need rag-tag jihadists from Syria ?” cannot be answered. Another fake news is that Turkish F-16s fighting alongside Azeri army. Armenia made these claims but cannot provide any evidence. As Armenia gets more desperate on the battle ground, bigger and bolder fake news will come out from Armenia. But will Armenia be able keep Nagorno-Karabakh with the PR war and fake news ? Unlikely because Turkish side is not too bad in unfoiling the fake news…

Because in the official documents it’s written that Karabakh will be KEPT in Azerbaijan.
Also in the official demographics consensus made by Soviet before 1918(foundation of Azerbaijan Republic) majority is Azerbaijani in Elisabethpol governorate(part of current invaded area+Zangazur, that is now recognized as legal Armenian land). There are Armenians too. But majority is Azerbaijani.

Karabakh is an internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan (by the United Nations). Karabakh is both historically and lawfully lands of Azerbaijan, however, Armenia wants to continue its occupation which lasts 30 years. It was liberated 1-2 days ago, and Azerbaijani army was strengthening their positions, that is why the official news came late. and Armenian side still refuses that they did not retreat (or killed) from that lands despite having actual footages in the centre of Hadrut. And by the way, spokeswoman of armenian MoD shared a video and said that “our boys are resisting” while the video was taken in trainings, and you can clearly see the training flags and other signs on the side of the roads that tanks used 🙂 have a nice day

Armenian lobby in USA and other parts of the world are working extra overtime to spread false claims. According to United Nations Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan and acknowledge Azerbaijan‘s borders. It is not a disputed region. With the help of Russia in late 1980s, Armenians invaded Nagorno-Karabakh and committed countless genocides. United Nations have 4 resolutions that clearly state that Armenians are occupying Azerbaijan’s land and committed genocide (which some Armenians are proud of). For decades, Armenia was supported by Russia and Iran that caused mayhem in the region. Azerbaijanians had it enough and want to return to their home land. There are several Russian military bases in Armenia that threatens NATO allies. This is Putin’s Russia that invaded Ukraine and Crimea.
If you look at the map, you’ll see that mainland Azerbaijan is on East and Nakhcivan (province of Azerbaijan) is on West but invaded by Armenia to divide NATO and Turks (thanks to Russia). Armenia never left Soviet regime and fully complaint with Russian regime. In addition, Armenia have a deference pack with Russia.
It is also interesting that these most news outlets are only showing one side of the coin.
Are you aware of Armenian’s firing countless Russian made ballistic missiles to Azerbaijan’s large cities, water dams and killing innocent civilians? Conflict is in Nagorno-Karabakh but Armenian ballistic missiles are targeting capital of Azerbaijan (Baku), Ganja, Barda and many more. Azerbaijanians could easily target Yerevan if they want but they don’t. The whole world knows what Armenia is trying to do. These are the last days of Pahsiyan’s dictatorship who by the way jailed previous presidents (yes more than one) of Armenia.
So-called “Syrian terrorists” seems to in Nagorno-Karabakh according to France, Russia and other western powers. Yet no Syrian terrorists captured or killed by Armenia.
Azerbaijan has a professional army that is 10 times larger than Armenian and doesn’t need anyone else’s help.
Read the history and inform yourselves instead of believing lobby run news channels.

In the invaded districts, majority was Azerbaijani. Each had around 50 thousand population, more than 90% Azerbaijani.

War is destructive. It is destructive to both the winner and the loser, and it sows the seeds for future conflict. The damage is not only to material things, but to the nature and character of entire nations of people who are traumatized.
