Wow, It felt like the production quality went through the roof in this one. Great Video. A tip from me: If you slide off chopped food with your knife from the cutting board, don’t use the sharp side. Over time, you will safe some money on knifes 🙂
I’ll save money on food but never go vegan or vegetarian. I’m eating animal products regardless especially meat lol 😆
Oh Nate, I am glad to see that you are leveling up your cooking skills :p Lots of progress from the fried egg failure LOL.
For some reason my meals are cheaper if I eat out rather than preparing them myself……
You’ll save an extra 25% if you cut your sandwiches diagonally
Go dumpster diving and get free food.
Don’t need to watch a video to know how to steal
That finger carrot got me uncomfortable real quick haha
7:48 The fact he woke up with sunglasses 😂
I love your videos! You always come through with solid advice. I, too, stick to water when dining out and am an avid advocate of the Oreo brand, preferably double stuffed. Love the editing. Happy New Year! 🎉
Why save money on food . We need a balanced diet but I think being indian we spend money on food it leads to nourishment . So spent money on food Just a suggestion but big fan of Nate😉.
.25 is a high amount 🤔
I love how your videos are turning lately, I mean, I’ve always loved the advices and all the stuff but now I can see more about your humor and personality and u’r actually pretty funny.
0:05 I’ve listen that if you cut your finger and put it into the soup, it adds that flavor to the soup and taste so much better, and it costs nothing so… are all advantages. You are welcome. XD
It almost hurt watching him terribly cutting food 🙈😆😆😆 poor potatoes😂
This video was awesome. I really think that setting a food budget and cooking at home are some of the most important ways to save. People have no idea how much they are spending on fast food an whatnot. My ex ate fast food/restaurant food for every single meal, and just couldn’t figure out why he never had any money saved.
It’s a simple tip that makes a huge difference!
I work in the food industry… you did offend the chefs😂
Just some healthy tips:
1- Never put your food in a tupper while is hot
2- Never put your tupper with hot food inside the fridge (wait till is cool)
3- Should think about buying glass tupperware ( a bit more expensive, but plastic has proven to be pretty bad for your health, so better be safe)
$45? Might as well make it $50👌🏼
why do you have dark circles?
Because he’s got a poor diet…
The bouncy tadpole formally pick because winter contradictorily ruin pro a divergent cream. fuzzy , ragged store
Really enjoying your videos nate I’m following you from mali west Africa your videos helpe a lot even if i speak just a little bit English but I’m slitt growth thanks
Buying ethical eggs and dairy, such as pasture-raised, helps prevent animal cruelty, ensures a quality product, and is environmentally-conscious.
Your smile at first kills 🔪🔥
Those ingredients def cost more like$10…. just sayin.
I’m italian, please eat your pasta with a fork…please
Is it possible that you recently switched editors?
Well, it’s a good thing to save money, and yes we can save money on food, BUT 😀
1, never save money by buying low quality groceries. (your digestive system will thank you, and you will not spend money later on medicine to get it back normal)
2, learn more about nutrients and calories (RDI, basal metabolic rate etc., .. example: you can earn calories from whatever food, but if they don’t contain nutrients you are going to be sick).
I’m not here to criticize your videos (I mostly like them), I’m here to just give you a hint and advice.
Wish you all the best.
Great video!! I like the red flannel, where did you get it?
What I wandering is if by freezing , the food loses healthy properties.
Great video, you should laugh more in your videos😄
Thanks
You will make it,,nice day
Going vegan and getting rid of most expensive, unhealthy and environmentally damaging foods is the best way! Prove me wrong
I’m a wellness& lifestyle coach here. What I do is intermittent fasting and I’ve recently started to fast more than what I eat. I went from 3-4 meals a day to 2 meals a day and saw the savings. Nate you are totally correct in meal planning and prepping. If people also prepare some meals ahead of time and freeze them it’s another great money saving idea. I also make sure that certain long standing staples/pantry items such as my dry goods (rice, flour, powder milk, and other boxed items) even canned items I have stocked up on. Of course I will buy them when it’s a good deal and shopping more than one grocery store is definitely good besides. Using coupons from the weekly shopper or even coupons from the manufacturer (usually on the company’s website) can be great for saving and cutting down what you spend. Some manufacturers have coupons for meat too, so if a meat product is on sale at store B and not Store A (Your normal go to location) going to store B for the sale with the coupon can save you more. This then allows the investment in to many other things.
Seems like you are happier 🙂
Hey awesome video! Just a small thing, i don’t think putting hot food directly into plastic containers is a good idea.
Maybe it’ll be better if you consider changing that for your own good👍👍
Thank you so much for this video, Nate! I have gained a substantial amount of weight due to COVID, graduating high school (and not having PE class), and eating out. I’m obese at this point, and I’m only 22. I hate cooking, so it’s easier for me to just buy food, but I think meal prepping will make it less miserable for me. I will start seeing a nutritionist in January, too, so that I can be healthy again. Perfect timing, indeed.
1:58 I slept in deserted buildings until I discovered this. Try it out here ,, *e z g o o d p a y*
Lol throwing shade at our boy Andrei 😂
This year has to be one of the worst I have been through, yet I’m relieved that I was presented with an easy strategy to make things work. You inspired me, glad I found you!
Hi Nate, please make a video where you just stab various fruits and vegetables.
Great cleaver!
I actually love this cooking video. Now I wanna see some bartender skills 😀
Next week: How I managed to appear on Chopped
Eating healthy, preparing home cooked meals and buying what is on sale. Nice to not be dependent on food the way I used to or eating compulsively.
I love the thumbnail pic!
Wow. You improved a lot in prepping your meal 😅😄
If you don’t practice that already, in order to save space in the freezer, you can take the frozen food out of the containers (usually I pour warm water on the bottom of the container to speed that up) and put frozen blocks in the plastic bags and back into the freezer ;).
I cracked up at you being immobilized the moment you were cutting the onions hahaha. Try holding a small piece of bread in your mouth while you cut onions next time!
I love your content Nate! Keep up the good work
Nate, you have inspired me to actually start my own YouTube channel. Thank you 😊
be careful using plastic to storage food, it can be harmful for your health, if you can, use glass canisters
Amazing video! We actually are able to safe a lot of money just eating healthy and planning you budget.
Sorry but that meal can’t be that healthy. With the sodium from the broth, the huge amount of carbs from the potatoes and noodles…Filling for sure, but healthy? Nah
I love your videos, they’re always inspiring for me to try something new and stretch myself.
If you are gonna eat healthy (organic, no processed foods), it’s gonna cost you!
I spend $400-500 a month just on myself and that doesn’t include supplements. This is one area of your budget where you SHOULDN’T be skimping on. Health=Wealth.
We also need to look at portion sizes on every meal, another way to maximize food. I wish I had your knowledge when I was your age.
How do you spend $45/week on food?! At least where I am from (Vancouver), that’s impossible. At minimum, I spend about $85/week and I barely buy any meat (maybe once every 2 months I’ll buy a 20 chicken breasts and freeze them.)
I follow this idea now. I just need to freeze more food! I freeze up to a week or less. So that’s something I’ll work on! Thanks for the tips bro
Idk about anyone else but the music in this video was top notch
cringy… don’t save on food, unless it’s about your health or u have to… eating 1month old freezed soups is not the way to go… obsession of control
Good vlog! I think that is the first time I heard you laugh.
Yes, I want NATE’s recipes!
Nate, can you share the recepie? I kinda missed what you ve put inside
Nate ” Let’s make cooking great again!”
You can have my kids. That’s all.
One thing that I would upgrade: glass tupperwares
Other tips:
– Pay attention to $/kg (or lbs) for the same kind of foods
– Don’t buy organic (i know it’s a subjective opinion)
– Make things yourself instead of buying the finished product. Example: i can buy a liter of oatmilk for 3$, or i can make it myself by blending up a deciliter of oats with a liter of water for 10cents. I can make ketchup with a can of tomatoes and some spices for 70cents instead of buying a bottle at the store for 2-3$.
– Going vegan (whole food plant based). Beans, lentils, couscous, pasta, rice, etc is so very cheap compared to meats, eggs and dairy
– Buy in season for veggies, usually way cheaper
– Grow your own food if possible
– Avoid sweets, sodas, chocolate, chips, alcohol (if you want to)
– Buy spices in large quantities at asian/Arabic supermarkets, it’s way cheaper than buying them in those small glass bottles in the regular supermarkets
– Buy nuts/seeds etc in bulk, usually cheaper than the plasticpackaged ones (could vary from country to country)
I live alone and i usually spend 140$ a month on food. Some months it’s way less. It’s really all about buying only what i need to be healthy, instead of what i want to feel good.
tip to not cry while cutting onions: don’t get attached to them
I have a couple of tips from my years as a chef.
1. Learn/meet some of your local farmers. The food you can get from them will always be better than any store, maybe a little pricey but better. They also could use the support.
2. Learn how to make things like pasta or bread insteadof buying it. If you get the ingredients to make one thing its more than likely to be used in something else.
3. Learn everything you can from how the food is grown to made. Growing your own food will cut cost by a lot if you can learn how to do it.
My favorite thing about being a chef is its a never ending chance to learn something new and most of what cooking is techniques and the things you learn.
Hope I helped!
Another’s quick tip that my mentor told me.
Learn how to make and master 5 dishes does not matter what, could even be a grilled cheese, but once you master those 5 dishes and learn how they are made other dishes will become easier.
My first 5 were a nice grilled steak, shrimp pasta, stuffed baked chicken, a simple salad and a grilled cheese.
You are definitely gram stephan’s younger brother.
I assume you have read up on Sam Walton and his lifestyle. Frugal on steroids.
oh la la he’s so charming
Wealthsimple gives you $10k managed for free !
This guy is sad he needs to get a life, dash girl friend or he going to die alone in a wheelchair wearing dippers. He has no clue about life.
I spend roughly $8000 CAD per year on food between me, my wife, my dog and my cat. IDK if that’s good or not
Edit: I’m 6’4 and 200 lbs with a physical job so I eat quite a bit… lol
Small tip: You should never use the sharp side of your knife to put your vegetables from the cutting board to a bowl 😬
I bought a salad and the next day wanted to buy another salad. Instead, went to the grocery store. For the same amount of money I spent on the restaurant salad, I made the same salad for three days. 😁 Yes, I can eat salad everyday. Thanks Nate.
I spend like $25 a week on groceries, and that’s in au as a vegan,
lol somehow getting tons of subscribers still. You have the golden ticket Nate.
It’s hard to eat left overs. I get tired of the same old thing. Great video!! I do want some chicken noodle soup now.
Simple but effective👌👌👌
Omg I’m scared watching you cook hahah. That knife looks like the one from two men and the pot or whatever on TikTok
How’d you make your soup man? Broth, noodles, carrots, celery, boil for an hour?
You’re a very great honest funny person. Keep up the good work. Hope you are enjoying life
How tall are you? I’ve never noticed before, but in this video you look super tall! 🙂
quality content, King

No one:
Still absolutely no one:
Nate: Well it’s very…. NOODELY
This is the inner version of Nate that I’ve been waiting forever haha, nothing financial, just living his life.
1. Learn to cook. 2. Eat more Veggies and healthy eating. 3. Restaurants easily waste $50- $100, without realizing it.
Sorry but I like fresh food. I prefer to cook every day
