nate your beard makes this weird im not use to this…..its effecting my productivity to pay attention to this video im too focused on the beard
If u need the purpose of life read the Bible bro. Your life will change.
Nate my question is, do you regret sacrificing your time knowing you are where you’re at? Let’s say you weren’t hustling hard and maybe you didn’t achieve that YouTube success. Would you be as happy as you are now? No correct answer of course, just wondering. I am thinking that the YouTube income you made was worth the sacrifice.
At the same time I see that you are scaling back a bit on YouTube and traveling and what not, so you’ve modeled both hustling hard and four day work week mentalities. Kudos to you bro
I other words stop working lame jobs and get you a degree! (That’s my takeaway)
very well said, good job again…
4 hour work week vibes, if you agree with the vid definitely read the book 4 hour work week
Great vid as always. Kind of off topic, but what camera do you use for your Youtube videos? Thanks!
I’m going on vacation! lol 🙂 and spending more time with family.
You fail to see that everyone who makes these 4 hour work week videos have 1m subs, already successful. & it took working 100+ hours to be able to entertain the idea of a 4 hour work week
I think we are also leveraging our work better. We prioritize goals, direction and slow down at work to find the best systems.
Nate you are amazing as you already reach a high success position in your early 20 in my perspective. I am 21 and I just started of to do something for life, I am not prefer myself right now to go enjoy life and having fun, cause most of the time it cost money, and I don’t have it yet, So currently I kinda struggle to find a balance between enjoy life and working on myself, I stumble on your video, although I am not 100% stand on your side as what I think in my mind right now, it still a great suggestion as I will try my best to find a balance between everything happen in my life and I will sure checkout the book you recommended. Thank you so much Nate, have a great one.
What you’re referring to as “hustle culture,” otherwise simply known as hustling, actually results in getting more done. You’re implicating it as “unhealthy,” quoted because you said it yourself. No one ever said, nor implied, hustling meaning working faster or somehow unhealthily.
It’s irrelevant to claim cleaning using a toothbrush yet not even noticing a bigger ‘tool,’ known as a mop.
You went as high as 100 hours a week, which is 14.3 hours per day seven day a week, which is unreasonable. When self-employed, depending on what any given individual does, they may work a little longer any given day(s) than other days of a given week. However, it’s more likely a person would focus on 12 hours a day at the most.
If “Storyblocks” saves you so much time then it makes sense to work longer each day to get even more done. It’s as simple as this… consider working eight hours on one day, ten hours the next and 12 the next. There’s three days of a week. You get more done that couple extra hours on the ten hour day than the eight hour day – and – you get even more done that couple extra hours on the 12 hour day than the ten hour day. Now add “Storyblocks.” Eight hour day, get more done than the previous eight hour day – you’re already ahead in just eight hours. So, WITHOUT ‘hustling,’ do a ten hour day next using “Storyblocks.” You’d get even more done than even the previous ten hour day. Now up it to a 12 hour day next and you’d get even more done than the previous 12 hour day.
The final fact, is… you’re thinking too hard and letting it happen. You’re letting simplicity become harder than it is.
I’ve caught myself thinking on something longer than I needed to, yet I’m also very open minded. I’ve had people that did better than I did during basic education, most especially high school – AND college – and they would really like (a) thought(s) of mine that they never would’ve thought of.

TALK TO EM NATE
Great realizations, Nate!
I could go for a slice
Good points! Love you ❤️
You’re smart too..
Keep it up sweetheart 💞👑👋🏆
“Just because you’re moving a lot doesn’t mean you’re getting a lot done. Don’t mistake movement for progress.” -Denzel Washington
Nice beard😎
Great lesson u always taught Nate. Keep going 🤗
U reminded me of my economics teachers..she taught us mankiw in university 😂
The concept of hard work is central to Christianity and other religions. God rewards those who work hard “You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands” This is the root of the belief that there is a positive correlation between how hard we work, suffer and sacrifice, and how much we achieve and gain
The Christian belief also talks about Rest.
What type of work do you guys do
our God is a God of peace, and rest.. working is a curse of sin, but God created man to have a relationship with Him, and seek peace from Him every day
@Anita Shuller God WORKS in mysterious ways. Don’t you think just the creation of man took some work nonthelese the creation of all living creatures
This is nate for you. Always honest and simple
No way you made this video at this moment!!! I just started reading 4 Hour Workweek a couple days ago and it’s ideas are aligning with what I want to do! Thanks Nate for the video and keep up the great content! I’d love to partner with you… be on the lookout for my emails 🙂
I like the pizza starvation comparison. As someone who is in school and unemployed. The diminishing returns idea is something I can apple to doing any sort of task from cooking to gaming to doing homework or zoom classes
I just want to chill and enjoy life. It’s beyond money and materialistic things. It should be more about how much we impact people around us in a positive way. And I feel that hustle culture is very draining for me to even do the positive deeds.
Yes I agree! I refused to get a side hustle. I’d rather spend my extra time with my kids and husband. 🥰🥰
My mans only 22? Making me feel bad here
I think it does depend on which type of work you do too: say you’re a plumber or a construction worker, hustling may be good if they pay you by the hour because the amount of mental effort you have to put in is minimal relative to physical effort and the body is stronger. On the other hand, if you are a rocket scientist or a manager and your decision are super important and stressful or difficult you’re much more likely to burn out your energies in 50 hours or less per week and then you start to even go against yourself. I guess the limit can be pushed too, to maybe 60 or 70 hours a week if you like “train” your mind, but still, I get the point.
Yow Is there something wrong in my eye ? I saw a glimpse of a beard over there 👉…. Alpha Nate is Coming to end us all
Great video, Nate.
Thanks
*I will succeed for my parents, for all they have made for me! I hope you will too!!*
Very important video that many people would benefit from watching! I respect Gary and the other people ‘promoting’ hustle culture, but it’s important to have the right balance when you are young. You really don’t want to look back on your 20s when you are in your 40s and regret the missed opportunities with friends and family.
bro, can you share the link with this study?
The book Peak Performance hits on this point well
This hit close to home, Nate.
Been working far too long hours recently and started noticing exactly that: my productivity was actually decreasing, stressed more, less time to devote to relationships, creatively burnt out, etc.
Much love for this one my guy 🙏
James do the dark side of minimalism next.
Happy you agree James, like I said in the video, my biggest breakthroughs always seem to happen when I have a low workload and lots of sleep
Effective is way better…I agree:)
Be productive…not busy!
This is called the toxic productivity echo chamber
I am 31, and I regret it too. 😥 too much work, no life 🤧
Work smarter not harder❗️
Videos like Nate O’Brien inspire me. I created my own youtube channel where I interview Millionaires.
my bro got some beard! great
Great beard bro
I almost Fainted 😿😿😿when i lost my capital. Basically i usually go into any business without been guided. But all thanks to my mentor and role models who has open me up to endless opportunities.
I just got into Bitcoin and I made my first profit, wish I knew about this earlier.
This is why I never charge by the hour. flat rates. So that I can get shit done quickly and efficiently and still make money.
Can you link the book that you mentioned in the video written by Stanford professor? Thanks
Hey can anyone tell me that link for the Stanford study paper?
Can you help me, I am wounded and disabled, and I have a very, very serious disease, can you help me from Iraq 😢🇮🇶
Do you listen to your books or physical read them or both. Which do you recommend im trying to soak some knowledge up while im still young . We’re the same age .
lets go nate 🙂 inspriation!
You’re saying it’s not normal to put 100% effort in 24/7? I totally agree, this is a crazy concept society has encouraged
Im seeing decorations, is nate no longer a minimalist? Hehe
A Tesla engineer once said “If you don’t plan on showing up on a Saturday, don’t bother coming in for your shift on Sunday”
Lol @ only 22. Very wise tho.
I really like that you address this topic! I really hit me
Bro, never have I imagined you talking of work-life balance. Basing on most of your vids, it’s so not you. Hope you’re in the best of health. Stay safe.
People working 80 hours a week and then going on a 2 week luxury holidays and say they are living the dream..
Mate shut up hahaha you are literally killing yourself every day a year but for 14..
These people forget that they will die and that the should enjoy every moment here
I was already thinking this as soon as ppl started saying side hustle. I don’t wanna hustle for anything, I’ll take my time.
This is all true, but what is the actual sollution? All employers are going to demand a given volume of effort and time.
Is the answer to adopt a kind of self-employed digital nomad life style/career that is supplemented by various passive income streams? I dont ask these questions out of sarcasm or rhetoric. I really do want to change my current job as it is slowly destroying my body due to the rediculous hours and physical demand. I just have no clue where to start.
work smarter not harder has always been my mindset since i was pretty young & it like always lowkey irritated me when people would over complicate things or overwork themselves for no reason like it’s just not necessary. simplicity works wonders
hey nate nice beard!
You really give new perspectives to things, and you can contrast existing believes so good. I think that’s so important for people just to have such an eye-opener sometimes!
Didn’t realize you were the same age as me! Read an article saying you were a Millennial. We are GEN Z!
Are you still planning on retiring at age 24 though?
Last thing you want is to loose your youth to work. Create ways to make money without working so hard and work smarter. Enjoy life. Also, alot of people let money rule over their life.
How productivity is killing hustle culture
Well.. I needed this video! Thank ya lol
The thought that was given in the video kind of reflects my lifestyle.
I am 17 years old and I spend most of my time just working hard learning maths and programming to show good results on my upcoming finals and to prepare myself to the future job. It has started a year ago when I decided to dive deep into studying thus I started disconnecting from people I considered to be my friends.
After some time It has led me to the point where I feel myself totally separated from almost every person I have known.
But I do not think that it was a bad idea or something that I will regret about in the future. It just feels unusual after realizing that hustling may lead to something that negativily effects your life.
Nate, thank you some much for making incredibly high quality content! After school graduation I will mindly consider changing the working routine to become a bit more satisfied of my life.
By the way, big greetings from Russia))))
Ты делаешь хороший контент, мне очень нравятся твои видео, узнаю много нового из них)
Sorry, I find the pizza tastes just as good no matter how many slices you eat
LET’S GO! GROW THE BEARD NATE!!
Strong agree. Delegating is a big thing I’m trying to do.
Nate’s one percent correct. Doing small tasks in the short term will give you some sort of gratification but not long-term success.
Gary Vee lol he means well but by looking at his face – he isn’t aging well.
Great content as always.
I work 40 a week morning shift my pay i invest save and spend on a budget the rest of the day and hours i play sports and go outdoors with my family.
Some of us don’t have a model face like you so need to hustle. LOL.
As a man, I think you got way more attractive with the facial hair.
If increasing productivity and financial stability synchronizes with each other then you’re good to go but unfortunately it doesn’t happen for 90% of the people and that’s a reality.
Hustle culture is a trap to steal your quality of life so businesses can get away with paying you less and not paying you benefits while making you feel proud of yourself about it. You have to have ambition, and if you’re working towards building something for yourself it’s fine if you spend a period time working around the clock to get your project or business off the ground, but working multiple minimum wage or low wage jobs with no benefits shouldn’t be a trendy lifestyle to be proud of. That is just pulling a flimflam on workers.
@meetkevin lmao
I am watching this even though I never worked more than like 20 hrs a week😅
I still wonder what is his zodiac sign
Well said 🎉
whoa the new age music is trippy
the 4 hour workweek is the most toxic book ever written, you’ll understand when you’re older
You said you’d leave a link to the Stanford study in the description box below but nope, just links to your social media and the brand you’re shilling today
Not shaving or baiting will save you time to be productive.
Nate you’re my crush 🙂
NATEEEE WE WANT THE STUDYY
Absolutely great video!
Seen this at just the right time. I’ve been working night shift for 5 years now at a company and moved up the ladder pretty quickly, but now I’ve been spending the past year working 60+ hours every single week. I spent my early 20’s working even more than that. I’m tired.
I feel I’m in a position now to where I can drop the “9-5”/ “hustle” type of schedule and finally follow my passions and be my own boss. I mostly miss sleeping at night though 😔 I’m 29. I don’t feel like I wasted my 20’s working, but I definitely could have prioritized self-care and relationships better.
What is your MBTI? I wonder
Hanging out with friends? Cannot be because it’s still lockdown in our country 😢
You we like your thr beard
