Relations between the United States and Russia have hit a new low.
In a tit-for-tat response to Washington’s sanctions, Moscow has expelled 10 diplomats and banned some former and current officials.
It came a day after the Biden administration imposed similar measures, accusing Russia of election interference and cyberattacks.

Well if US is “punishing Russia” for interference then the very act of punishing Russia for arresting Alexie Nivalny is interference in Russian matters. Ironic!!

In reality, Russia is getting sanctioned for repeatedly killing the opposition. You cannot just call such thing “Russian matters”.

Russia is not sanctioned for doing smt to Nivalny, they are sanctioned to be using chemistry weapons (that were banned in the world).
And it’s not a simple “violated a court’s order”. The main argument in the court was that he broke local court’s order that, basically meant that Nivalny was supposed to go and check-in by his local police station every month, this happened in 2014 and he was supposed to do this for 3,5 years.
Later on, Nivalny successfully appeal against this court decision in the European Court of Human Rights
. So this already wasn’t a thing.
Then the Russian government agents poisoned Nivalny with a chemical weapon, Novichok (the thing they are sanctioned for). Nivalny was transported to Germany for treatment and was there for about half a year. Meanwhile, Russian court decided to open a new fabricated case on Nivalny for spending peoples donations on himself, they accused him of fraud. I mentioned those 3,5 years because local puppet-politicians were screaming on the TV that he was missing those check-ins and that they had to open a case on him for that.
Russia is a savage country ruled by criminals that will kill anyone to keep their place. The Azerbaijanis, now the local TV is doing it’s best do “dehumanize” the Ukraine people. Very few people in Russia understands that their president is very aggressive, they are told that Putin is defensive, that everybody is an enemy except for Belarus and China. They are told that they are sanctioned by the world for nothing. Most of them truly think that it is okay to occupy the Crimea, to send the military to Donetsk for about 8 years on a hybrid war, and so on.
