Israeli air raid targets key Syrian port of Latakia: State media

An Israeli air raid has struck Syria’s Mediterranean port of Latakia for the second time this month, causing “significant material damage”, according to Syrian state media. “At around 3:21am (05:21 GMT), the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression with several missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean … targeting the container yard in Latakia port,” SANA state news agency cited a military source as saying on Tuesday. Dozens of ‘defenceless’ civilians killed in Mozambique attack

Mozambique’s military says dozens of civilians have been killed in a five-day siege, including seven who tried to flee from a hotel in the northern town of Palma. A military spokesman says hundreds of other people – locals and foreigners – were rescued from the town which is a logistics hub for international gas projects in Cabo Delgado province where fighting is still ongoing. A three-year conflict in northern Mozambique has displaced about 670,000 people, according to the United Nations.
