Chad’s army says it has repelled an attack by a rebel group in its northern region.
It comes a week after presidential elections were held in which President Idriss Deby is poised to win a sixth term. Opposition leaders in the capital have called for a ceasefire and dialogue to resolve the situation.

Recent rebellions in Sahel region of Africa are fuelled by bad governance and corruption, also the consequence of the intervention of the Western coallition namely France, USA, UK in Libya and Iraq.
Fact is France colonized Chad and other Sahel countries and still does so in a different way but the result is the same complete mess. The old colonial mentality “divide, control and rule” still prevails. Africa must wake up, unite and be the master of its destiny.
The cause of all this chaos is African leader. They want to stay in power for many years. They jail or kill their opponent while embezzling their people wealth in billions. Allow their party member and supporters to be corrupt and doing nothing. That is enough wake up Africa
