A new electric-powered motorcycle is changing how women do business in rural Zimbabwe.
It is helping families bring in more money, in a country where opportunities are rare.

Electric back is Made in China
@nonconformist you are separating African nations to single them in poverty
U a probably don’t want to see African do business with each other as priorities and secondary Asian… Countries …
Like lndia give their helps to the nations which have nothing to help them back…. That’s so shame and sad🇮🇳… 🇳🇨
@ligola ligola If you have all these things in Africa, why are the people of Zim without food and beg the UN to “please help us”
Ask me…. The video didn’t mention UN here…. that is your own problems…. . Leave me in peace 🇳🇨🇷🇺
@nonconformist You know nothing about economics and how sanctions work
@Freedom Hahaha, I run my household and business better than that your Africans/ Chinese combo can run your countries, but yes, its NEVER your fault, its always the white man and the west fault, Why do you still struggle after 40 years with the help of eastern communist countries????
Very Good
I like this a lot
Solar system ☀️Agriculture God bless 🌳
Nice to see some good developments in Zimbabwe.
How us a bike a development
@nana kazondo huh?
@nana kazondo better than nothing
From proper working Zupco transportation to modified golf cart, and you think its better than nothing. I feel sorry for your kids and anyone looking up to you.
@Sarah Schweinsteiger You’d rather they had nothing? There’s no question that Zimbabwe used to be much better than it is, but I’ve seen people carrying huge loads by foot, because they didn’t even have access to a donkey. Of course it would have been better if Mugabe didn’t ruin Zimbabwe, but he did, and these bikes are a real quality of life improvement for the people that get access to them. That definitely sounds like a positive development to me and I don’t think your personal attacks are warranted.
Had to laugh at shoving the conductors into the outlet, being british outlets they’d have to defeat the shutters. Take some pride in your electrical work please!
Hope these electric bikes would eventually help Zimbabwe’s economy
🤣🤣🤣🤣💦small brains
China gonna lift the whole African into the next age given this pace, and its a win win situation.
Africa is lifting Africa. As if this product couldn’t have been bought from India or Turkey or some other place.
Yup, all in south china sea have given win win situation from China.
@C. Lincoln China is seeing Africa as a business, just like any other manufacturer.
India’s bajaj motorcycle gets exported to 70 countries, most popular as boda boda in afrika.
India already makes good quality e-rickshaws. I used to ride them everyday
Essentially cheap to run golf carts. I’d like one too!
Yes me too
Why wasn’t this done using petrol? In the bush it is a lot more versatile. Many places are without electricity.
you need $$ to buy fossil fuel and you no need a single cent to buy sunlight
@Vianny chin You need to buy a solar set up though
Ummmm because petrol is a non renewable energy source and we’re trying not to use fossil fuels to help decrease pollution on the planet…. are U kidding?? 🙄🙄🤦♀️🤦♀️
@david mcdonald does building a solar set up requires electricity?
@george ikinya No but you need certain equipment ie solar panels , inverter , battery. You dont just leave your phone out in the sun and it charges up ffs
Looks like generic Chinese electronic bikes you see alot in the rural areas. Those thing cost less than $500 with batteries.
We need these in rural America 😅
aliexpress
@xinglin jiang I will copy the design and manufacture in Mexico. 👍
@PatriotismSave lol ok please beat musk。
Zimbabwe is the good twin of evil Nigeria lmao
No it’s not !
@Uncle Ruckus why
No.
terrible twins, with evil leaders , poverty but resource rich countries, bad roads , bad currency you name it. same same Zimbabwe and Nigeria
More sexism
i like this a brilliant idea
👍👍👍
I like that here in philippines
That’s something good in Zimbabwe especially as it is rated as a country with the most educated people on the African continent …
Made by Chinese not Zimbabweans
@He IsLord assembled in Zimbabwe keep player hating
@He IsLord I am with you there I wish the production was being done by Zimbabweans not Chinese nxa though it’s helping the poor rural women
The country is going backwards….its funny how that president looks confident in public. When his country is in that kind of state, look at new Rwanda.
Very good I like to buy one
Thanks to China
Good bissnes idea 😁👍
I’d like to learn more about the business. So they rent it for $15 per month? And they can use it any time they want? Or for 4 hours per day or what? Also how much does it cost to buy & ship the cart to Africa and how long will it take the investor to make their investment back?! I love impact investing.
Long live zim
Why is this called a scheme? This is a great idea as gig is good entry level work til one goes to school for a career
China brings technology, infrastructure, innovation and development to the world.
Love from Jamaica
They bring Virus too
Jamaica got virus from China
But they must stop shade deals busy looting our resources
Very good informative video about women empowerment .
Wow beautiful. Amazing organization
Acts 2:38-39(KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
haha funny book
I wish I could buy one of those things here in Australia…!!!!!
You can import it yourself from China.Go to Alibaba.
nice some news
I like those
🥚💥🤛 🖕
Wow. Drivers can make $8 per day transporting passengers, yet, the vehicle only cost $15 per month. I SEE VERY GOOD PROFIT MARGINS!
*Good News*
This is GOOD. Helping people.
Are those the batteries stolen in South Africa?
I thought you were the one stealing batteries from South africa
@Michael Maps you know about the batteries found on busses etc at the border, stolen from cellphone towers, sure our own are helping with the stealing but the export is to neighboring countries.
I wish this project success. Next is biogas systems and those households would really be free to engage in more productive work.
China is all about we all getting money together …. Main while USA and their allies only aid Africa with weapons so we kill eachother… Honestly I’ll choose Chinese 💯 times over USA…. So many years USA been friends with Africa there is not a single African country well developed compare to when China open up to Africa.. some might say it’s dept , yes it’s dept for development and empowerment better then dept for us killing eachother in Africa
This is my country where I grew up and I know the struggle of transportation first hand. This is a great alternative to petrol, dangerous and animal abusive scotch carts and definitely beats walking miles on end to sell perishable foods for a very low profit margin. I like this.
No wonder why ya’ll going backwards while countries like Rwanda going forward. Zimbabwe is a failed state because of small brain people like you, who thinks this is great from the buses that used to run in the 80s and 90s. The president should be very ashamed to travel the world meeting really president like the Rwandan, Tanzanian or Ghanaian president
@Sarah Schweinsteiger 🤣
I’m from China, these kind of electric tricycles really help a lot to the poor and have a great contribution to the economy especially in rural areas, since they’re very affordable for those who can’t buy vehicles.
The best thing of the cycle carriage is environmentally friendly…👍♥️
We need more of this, clean affordable energy that does not pollute atmosphere in major way. Africa is last frontier in preventing devastating climatic change, for if people were to better of like other parts of the works with trillions of cars/trains/factories all polluting air with fossil fuel, this earth would be done.
The bikes are made in China and assembled in some part of Zimbabwe. why isn’t the bike made and assembled in Zimbabwe?
Zimbabwe is still a victim to illegal sanctions committed by the west
@Freedom stop lying the sanctions are targeted against the leadership of Zimbabwe who in turn punish Zimbabweans because they control everything
Because it can’t. Manufacturing a simple electrical car is not simple . For example, to produce the electronic bike system in the news, we have to produce batteries , solar panels, electric motors : none of them are easy to produce. Solar panels manufacturing cost Huge amount of electricity to purify silicon to 99.999% , which requires cheap and stable electricity supply. To make batteries, we need a a lot chemicals industry companies in the supply chains. None of them is currently available in Zimbabwe.
It’s need much money, and need a big company to do it.
Those are the shade deals they do with China, they don’t want our countries to benefit that’s why they are not opening industries in Zimbabwe so that they continue exploiting us ,..and you hear some stupid people complaining about sanctions yet it’s shade deals and looting of resources causing that
Chinese innovations changing the world 😊
God bless China
yeah! 👌
THE PRICE MUST BE 300 TRILLION ZIMBABWEAN DOLLARS EACH
$8 a day when the president just bought an $18 million dollar helicopter that he will barely use 🤬🤬🤬🤬 smfh
This is great … Mobility of Africa
Good to see positive news from Zimbabwe
this is good
Africa is screwed and the leaders are a joke
Amazing technology. Pakistan need this type of technology
this is a wonderful idea, and a perfect example of how developing countries can be built with green infrastructure and transportation, so that the painful transition away from fossil fuels further down the path to becoming a developed country can be avoided.
Once this is fully rolled out, Zimbabwe will be a highly productive country that is powered by the sun. With essentially free energy it can leapfrog other countries that still dependant for oil.
We west african liberian love our cousins in Zimbabwe very much😘😘😘❤❤❤🥰 beautiful African people. One African.
Of course this is a nice opportunity for women who can enhance their income capacity but look at the sustainability of the system. I spent ten years working in African rural mobility including Zimbabwe. The economics don’t work. $15 per month will cover the cost of maintenence but it will not pay for the vehicle or a solar array or the costs of getting the vehicle into Zim and then out into a rural area. There is opportunity in rural transport but we must look past the feel good stories for the sustainable business models. Projects that get some money then either collapse after two years or muddle along with dependence on donations, don’t really help anyone. I hope this group can learn and evolve fast to something that grows to help millions.
What a wonderful initiative and sustainable too!!👌🏽
im surprised the chicken never run away
Good to see good news in Zimbabwe.
The world is flying rockets to space for exploration. Africa is calling the use of bikes to go to the next village “progress.” Most so-called African “leaders” are failing their people. Colonisers are rejoicing.
Better then using greenhouse gasses should use more water, wind, solar, plant, and alcohol powered kinds of vehicles
I hope Zimbabwe doesn’t fall with the CCP beho debt trap tactics
Mugabe destroyed Zimbabwe
great stories
Here in uk we are entirely missing out on what could transform transport and carbon emissions . Well done Zimbabwe for being way ahead of UK on this .
They must open industries in Zimbabwe for manufacturing those bikes instead off looting our resources then come back to sell us finished products at an exorbitant price… Chinese must stop shade deals … African leaders open your minds ….
That’s an inspiring idea! An off-the-grid solar recharging station, Uber-Esque ride-sharing, and small commodities transport all in one. Such a wonderful program will improve all of the villager’s lives.
And this is the beginning of wisdom: Get wisdom, at the cost of everything you have, get prudence.
My poor Rhodesia.
Rhodesians never die.
Great job. That’s a success story in Zimbabwe especially for us women.
I would like to purchase one bike please, any contact details?
They are dangerous to drive on not safe
Well done thats good
