A fuel crisis in Lebanon has worsened in the past few weeks with supplies dwindling and the Lebanese pound having lost most of its value.
Severe shortages and high petrol prices have increased transport costs, impacting people’s earnings and making even getting to work more difficult.

Palestine and Lebanon are two war torn failed states with a history of never ending civil wars and extreme corruption, this two would be better off by emerging into Israel as one country.
This story has problems. The entrepreneurs who are adding bus service are buying buses and petrol/gasoline, probably in dollars or euros. The riders are probably paying in dollars or euros. The real story here is about access to foreign capital.
For people with dollars/euros, these are boon times.People without hard currency are selling whatever they own, at a fraction of the value, in order to buy medicine, food. People with hard currency are buying up the country, cheap. Vulture capitalism. The biggest vultures are likely the Aoun, Hariri etc clans. Decades of transforming their Lebanese graft into euro investments in France, Britain, Germany, 1) weakened the Lebanese economy, currency, and 2) enabled them to come running with euros, when the Lebanese currency collapsed.
For those with hard currency, this crisis can go on, profitably, for some time. It will become a problem when the situation deteriorates into mass starvation and war. The hard currency holders appear to be wagering that the international community will intervene before it comes to that.
The real question here is: how many Lebanese have access to foreign currency, and how many do not?
