The Biden administration says it will not be sending any government officials to China’s Winter Olympics because of its human rights issues, especially in the Xinjiang region.
But it says US athletes will not be barred from attending the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
Beijing has dismissed the move as politically motivated and it comes just as President Joe Biden prepares to hold his Summit for Democracy on Thursday and Friday.
