Manatees are nice, however, boating safety requires herbicides that the state has used successfully (true fact check) to clear the water of boating hazards (the food pantry of sea life). Tourists come for boating and recreation, “Their” safety is paramount. Manatees are incompatible with sustainable development and as in all gentrification projects, they need to pay their share or move out of town. The Billionaire have arrived and don’t like the smell.

@b earth race their boats. Not an issue for boats that are just floating around. Tourists don’t come to Florida for fishing they want a speed boat. Actually it’s really more a matter of economics. Disney world and all those other places Cruise companies all spend huge amounts of money from candidates to lobbying for the best interest of the candidate. The governor talks about freedom but he doesn’t know the definition of freedom or the meaning of it. Freedom is the freedom to do good things not freedom to do whatever you want no matter the price for the cost. Getting vaccinated is one of those it’s not a freedom issue it’s a life and death for the world issue. Killing is fun being manatee or people are like. They also remove Manatees from endangered species act 4 years ago..hmm just like many environmental protection agencies were dismantled starting 4 years ago. So since then the boating industry has not been held accountable for stripping the food source. The saddest fact is those deadzone effects everything and if the water is so polluted people can’t swim.. then what happens to the tourist traffic. Who wants to worry about falling into fleash eating bacteria..lol
Honestly at this point a lot of these species will die regardless of what we do now. So I daily pray for all the glaciers to melt and raise that see level. Let’s make this interesting at least. Not to mention it likely be a population thinning event..lol..lol..lol 🎈

@b earth 1 pound vegetables = 39 gallons of water. 1 pound beef = 1847 gallons of water. Vegetarians use less water, however this issue has to do with nitrogen fertilizer. The run off from countless lawns goes directly into bays, estuaries and lagoons. The 2nd cause is glyphosate and diquat (weed killer). In Florida they’re trying to eradicate the Water Hyacinth plant — which isn’t native to Florida and is considered “invasive.” The Water Hyacinth has roots which dangle in the water and absorbs nitrogen, contaminants, pollutants and metals including lead and mercury in the water. It may be “invasive,” but in many ways it’s beneficial since it cleans the water and still allows enough sunlight through to reach the sea grass. Nevertheless they’re trying to eradicate it with pesticides and herbicides. The chemicals they use in weed killers is a double blow to the ecosystem and the manatee. Manatee carcasses have been found with glyphosate in addition to having been starved from the lack of sea grass. The water in their bays and lagoons is completely cloudy through and through — and without oxygen. They’re dead zones, basically.
This issue is a catastrophe and it’s bigger and more important than the vaccine/no vaccine or mask/no mask debate. Why? Because we are poisoning our environment and killing ourselves and wildlife — slowly and gradually.
I’ll be interviewing the author of two books about pesticides and the corruption of our state and federal officials who allow the chemical spraying to continue.
So long as our society values nothing more than money these problems will continue to get worse. The life of a manatee and her calf — you cannot put a price on that.

Heck, they think just the fact they do not eat meat they are saving the world. Well, sadly many of the unreseached products they use daily, have animal by products or its carbon imprint is insanely trafficked across the world.
So I agree humans need to rewire their mind set, need less, use less and then there would be less pollution and waste.
I also believe the planet and all the plants and animals have more priority over humans. I do not feel humans should travel and see the whole world. Some places should be kept untouched for nature. Manatees were removed from the endangered species act 4 years ago…who the heck approved and pushed for FLORIDA to remove Manatees from federal protection, Trump. Now over the past 4 years 90% of the Manatees habitat has gotten worse and even became deadzone, where no living organism can be found for miles!!! I hope that glacier melts and send Florida under the water👹

This will eventually affect us. We think we’re separate from the Earth. We DEPEND on earth. We will be next. Plastic with be in our stomachs, we will have food shortages as well because we depend on food chains. Save them please. People stop putting poison in your lawns, stop polluting, stop using speedboats and jet skies on canals and areas close to them, close parks where there are manatees until they recover, authorities should mark those areas and close access….
Please note that they are dying in the Indian River Lagoon area only . This is not all of Florida’s manatees . There is 450 manatees in Blue Spring right now , those enter from east coast Jacksonville area or stay in the St John’s River and springs. There is Crystal River area on west coast many there . They make it sound like all of them are dying and that’s just not true .
