I think wrong move by Putin. If he fears that Ukraine can become a cradle for NATO he could have in return made Russia stronger by showing off more military projects or military strength (Muscle flex). Instead he chose path of a medieval mad King based on assumption that Zelensky is a Washington puppet. Even if the assumption is right there are a million ways to get Zelensky out. This will backfire and the sooner he and the rest of his advisors realize, the better.

Ukraine should agree never to join NATO in return for Russia returning annexed Crimea and Donbas. Then in 10 to 15 years time, Ukraine will prosper economically as a part of the European Union. Russia will continue to decline and the Russians will be envious of Ukraine and will overthrow Putin. Once the Russian empire collapses, there will be no need to uphold that agreement anymore and Ukraine can happily join NATO!!! Long live Ukraine 🇺🇦!!

Russia needs to back off, leave Ukraine and leave the Ukrainian people alone. Then after a few years, better relations maybe can be built. But for now, Ukraine needs peace and control over its future. They should not worry about war and what to do, but think about their life and family and how to live their life to the fullest.
