More than 2,000 soldiers and police in Myanmar have joined the resistance movement since last year’s coup.
Many say they could not keep working for the military after it used lethal force against protesters and activists.

According to officers who have defected, a split is likely if defections continue at the current rate. Looking at local media reports between 5 and 10 Tatmadaw personnel are deserting every day, informed sources say the desertion rate is much higher than that.

@Be chillin Of course both should pay for what they did. But the whole situation started because the generals staged a coup. Later these generals ordered their soldiers and police to shoot people in the head, some of them couldn’t do that and defected. When you say “shame on them” you need to include the criminals at the top.
