This is why I use Apple Pay when I can
Soooo by the cashiers actions that they are facilitating the crime isn’t an offence in the US? There is no possible way that she can say that she doesn’t know that the skimmer wasn’t there.
Living in the DFW I try to avoid 7-11 as much as possible. The clerks have actually ripped me off more than a few times. They charge you higher than the prices advertised and will argue you to death that the prices have changed somehow before the sign has changed. They will also give you the wrong change if your not paying attention. It has happened to me at several locations in the DFW area. So now I only go to RaceTrac or QuickTrip because they are extremely professional. Most 7-11 workers barely speak English and have the worst customer service in the world. At least with Race Trac they tell you, “Thank you, see you again!“ I purposely drive out of my way for the customer service.
Good deeds aren’t rewarded correctly, because literal Evil Rules the World.
Never use your debit card outside your bank
Same thing happened to me in VA. Only difference is the thief waited about 2 months before stealing from my account. I know this because i used a certain card that I rarely use. Get notifications/text sent to your phone for every purchase.
There’s no way that was installed without people in that store knowing it was there. It was too obvious. You’re talking about a business that monitors the areas around its registers constantly. One company who’s stores I managed had systems in place where someone sitting in the home office could peek in on what was happening in any of their locations in real time, including a data feed from the registers anytime a cash transaction was made. So no, local management and staff had to have known. Someone in that store was getting a percentage of the take.
I hope she gets some compensation for being a hero.
That’s why I always ‘check’ to see if the credit card machine is legit or not. The way I do it (not sure if the method can easily identify it or not) is to try to ‘slide’ the machine down, lift it up, and check chip insertion area.
Excessive and probably overdoing it, but I think it is always better safe than sorry.
Very smart lady!
This 7 eleven should be shut down until they find out who is involved
Good on her
Fine and smart
She get her money back?
Jesus Christ this is scary.
She’s africking-mazing! Way to do it. Incredible. Hiring that girl now.
The fact that the owner didn’t at least say stuff like:
it’s terrible, I’ll do my own investigation, if it’s an employee they’ll be fired and arrested, etc., is suspicious 🤨
Whoa! My employer’s video doesn’t say anything about an entire fricken face plate.
It had to be an employee. Can you imagine anyone but an employee walking up with that card skimmer and trying to put it on the machine? And then get it back afterwards? It’s an employee. I’m 99% sure of it
Got to be an inside job. And they let these crooks stay in business. The Feds should be all over this scam.
Man, I’d blame 7/11. That’s at the front counter
Smart girl, good job! 👏🙌
Before I knew about this I had my information taken from my debit card at a gas station in Virginia… Got me for 1200 dollars. Come to find out someone placed a card reader on the pump I used to get gas. Ever since then I check everytime I go swipe my card anywhere.. sometimes people behind the register give me a weird look but it’s worth it. Better safe than sorry. 👍
It’s probably one of the workers lol
She should sue 7/11 for not inspecting card reader
Bet it was an employee who added it.
The employees! Case solved!
Good for this young mom. Stealing from others is horrible.
😍
…remind me of half a year ago. Went to eat out at my local restaurant, I paid with my credit card but found a few days later that the same day my debit card was charge for an apple payment I didn’t make. My debit card is only used at my bank ATM. A month later, $900, $75, and $25 was charged to my dad checking account. All charged came from banks or loan related agencies. I was scared and extremely angry. Idk how they manage to get ahold of his account information. The only thing I could think of is, someone got ahold of his statement or someone hack one of the companies that has his bank information. I was paranoia for a while and check our transaction history every few days.
This is why I pay in cash!!! How can this happen without the employees /owner noticing! Don’t they know what to look for????
Smart, determined and beautiful to boot. Very impressed
That’s an inside job if the skimmer was on the machine at the register. They just gotta watch the store video to see who installed it.
Gas is nearly $6 there. It was $1.85 a gallon on the day of the election. Thanks joe biden. At least no more mean tweets though, I hope you people are happy.
I’m watching this video to the end. How can 7 11 not know that was there?
I’m so glad this lady filmed the card skimmer removal because I can show it to my 84 year old dad who doesn’t believe it can happen to him. Now he will know what to look for.
No comment from owner and staff. Yeah you guilty.
Probably an employee
Beautiful and smart.
Check the security camera footage
This is scary
They all should be arrested.
She’s a genius!!
The cashier is probably is working with a scammer back in their country
IN AN ALTERNATE WORLD NOT ONLY WOULD SHE HAVE GOTTON HER MONEY BACK. BUT ALSO WOULD HAVE GOTTEN 600 MORE DOLLARS ON TOP OF HER OWN MONEY , JUST FOR BEING PUT THROUGH THAT.
That has to be an inside job or someone that knows the person because the credit card reader is right next to the register so you’re going to tell me the person working the register never noticed someone putting it on top, well it shouldn’t be that hard to figure it out especially that they have cameras and there’s a big chance they will find the person’s fingerprints on the back of the skimmer, but people need to be aware whenever swiping their card and make sure you pull on it because it’s not that hard to detect also we need to have stronger consequences for these types of criminals.
That’s right. Social media is here to f••• up all the bad people out there.
When you’re on food stamps and section 8 you got to watch your money that the government gives you from hard-working people.
Smells like Texas.
The magical goose ultrastructurally examine because robin traditionally concentrate per a windy barometer. belligerent, fancy spoon
Check your accounts daily and ensure that the charges are legitimate. Also, get an RFID wallet or purse which blocks thieves from being able to scan and clone your credit and debit cards wirelessly. They usually have to be within 3-5 feet of you. Card skimmers are just one way to steal your card information. If you can pay using cash, that’s the safest method – albeit, not as convenient.
$5.63 for unleaded? And diesel is cheaper??? That’s the real crime here
$600 wiped her out. Bless her heart. Also this type of stuff is why I don’t go to gas stations owned by Indians
Give her a medal
Smart
Proof that human creativity knows no boundaries, especially during trying times like these…
This is ridiculous the police have all the evidence right in front of their dam faces but that agent wants to sit there like yeah we’ll get to it.
It was probably the owner of the business
What makes you think that 7 11 was not part of the card scam? It has to be their employees.
That’s why I use Apple Pay
First it was the banks and now anywhere that we ship that have these machines🤯 seriously this may have been already going for a long time. The time it takes people to do this they could’ve added to the world than take from it
She took that off like she installed it herself, lol bag of chips; those were relos on the counter.
For small purchases use the tap
Like they don’t know who is behind it.
Good job, lady ! 👏👏👏
Another reason why cash is King.
It’s the employees who are doing this!!!!!
Somebody in the 7/11 is inside job
I’m checking every dam time now thank you lady
This a franchise scam .. its no longer the hackers
It’s someone who works there
That’s obviously an inside job… How does a random person get one of those things on inside the store without being caught🤨
They put it on when the come to work and take it of when they leave
Inside the store next to the front counter, yea employees knew
I’ll start using cash
Don’t know who did it? Lol How about the owner or workers lol
Use your credit cards and go where they take tap to pay! Then move that money over to pay it off if you don’t want to rack up your cc bill. Working in a bank, most of the disputes can’t take place until that money has already left your account and the process is subject to investigation. Different regulations when disputing charges on a cc vs. a debit card linked to your checking account.
GOD will Expose all. Thief
It’s the guy working the counter . It’s his skimmer
She lowkey fire doe 🔥
This Lady. deserves. a. Reward. ASAP
couldn’t people make employees check their card readers for those things… but also my curiosity is 1 wouldn’t they notice smt different about the reader and 2 how did it get put in if someone is usually always behind the counter…
Dame criminals
She was lucky. That thief was stupid, using that card number immediately after getting it. A smart thief would have not used the skimmer twice at the same place, and after removing it to retrieve the data would have not used it at that store again, and also waited to make any purchases until after removing it so the person going back to see if there was a skimmer, would never find it.
Chip propaganda
Smart Mama!! Nobody messes with Mama Bear’s finances!! 💪🏻
600$ drain in a single card? I dont encourage these type of actions by the scammers should take few cents or even dollars each card every week or month. None will noticed and if they do, the amount is too small to take action. With this scam i think they already have info of hundreds credit cards. The profit maybe small but the risk is manageable and income will be stable
I came to be aware of skimmers, I now have a crush on this woman.
No suspicious transaction call? Citi calls immediately!!!
The worst part of this is a single mother with 600 cash in her account god bless her she strong
Gurl! Wat cho name is!…. gurl! Wat chew got own!…
Give her money now
Chips? Or blunt wraps?
Store employee is on that
Suspicious
