I disagree with him entirely. Collaborating with a country on all fronts has serious implications on the governance and genetic composition of the population. Competing against the Chinese doesn’t require you to collaborate with Russia. You just have to keep an eye on whether or not they’re joining forces against the USA and if it poses an immediate threat to the country. As far as I can tell, the Chinese want to acquire a lion’s share of the businesses and people deserting the USA and they’re also making it look lucrative in the short run. Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the long run. If Russia chooses to join forces with the Chinese, it’s going to come at a huge cost. So, to conclude, any ties that the Russians and the Chinese have, is going to be limited to small amounts of trade. As far as I’m concerned, I’d also like to limit the interaction with other countries to trade of goods and services, without giving up on the identity. I look at trade as a tool for moving faster towards meeting our goals. It need not be maximized at the cost of giving up on religion or identity.

If the US and NATO dared not defend Ukraine in the region where they have the overwhelming superiority it is inconceivable that the US will defend Taiwan in the region where China has the overwhelming superiority.

Before they even make an invasion we will see them get there troops and ships ready. We know what time they will invade because there only 2 times of the year where the waters are calm. And Taiwan is a big ass mountain in the middle of the sea with thousands of missiles aim at China 24/7. Do you know how hard this invasion/impossible it would be to successfully pull this invasion off?

It really does not matter if you know when the invasion will start because you can do nothing about it. But you will even not know that, because the invasion will open up with a month or two of airstrikes. China regularly flies a large number of airplanes around Taiwan and you’ll never know when one of those exercises will turn into invasion. After the beginning of “Shock and awe with Chinese characteristics PLA will have at least a month of time to assemble invasion forces.
After thousands of airplanes, drones, cruise missiles and mainland -based MLRS (which cover the entire island) has softened the defenses over course of 30 days you can expect airborne invasion by couple of thousand helicopters and paratroopers (rather poor paratrooper lift of only 21000 per drop but for Taiwan it will suffice). It’s a 20 min flight from the mainland so one helicopter will be able to deliver many rounds of equipment and troops per day.
Invasion by sea will start only when airforce and airborne troops have secured the beachheads and destroyed most of the defenses.
The Us will have no ability to interfere since the navy will have to stay beyond the second island chain and the airbases are too far away in Japan, Okinawa and Guam with far too few planes that will have to be refueled in air to reach the battlefield .
In the airspace around Taiwan, Chinese airplanes are likely to outnumber the US planes 3 to 1, plus having the advantage of home air-defense. I call that “overwhelming superiority”
