Why are they wasting time “saving” sequoias from fires?? Fire is part of their life cycle, sequoia seeds need fire to be able to grow into new trees and the mature trees bark is extremely thick and fire resistant.
Because they are not likely adapted to the intensity and duration of fire that is happening now with higher average temps and rock bottom humidity.

I’m done feeling sorry for these people. They actively choose to live in dangerous areas when scientists have stated millions of times that humans need to move away from climatologically dangerous areas and to adapt to climate change. This is the result when you refuse to do anything about climate change. Adapt or die. Those are the only options we have left.
This actually isn’t a bad area. The elevation is high and while it gets hot in the summer it used to be rather rare. (The drought does affect the area as it relies on snow filling the lakes but LA draining the water is the bigger issue) I am finding it interesting that they were so focused on the park when its really not as big a deal as they made it out to be. Redwoods and Sequoias breed in the wake of fire. They literally NEED fire to breed. It’s the only way their pine cones open before the seeds inside rot. The park has seen plenty of fires throughout the years and some even ran through the small area where the dozen or so sequoias trees are. Nature is not so week and so long as they aren’t draining the lakes for a city that should be building more desalinization plants, then its not a bad area. The biggest issue here is its more of wild area and so when people don’t maintain their firebreaks, all it takes is a lightning strike starting a blaze for it to threaten the population.
So sad but we are living in the E N D times, the 7year Tribulation with the world leader (Antichrist, 666) is right around the corner, that’s GOD’S judgement upon all unbelievers! But there is hope – get saved and be rapture ready: accept JESUS CHRIST as your Lord and Savior today!!!

The irony here is sequoias and redwoods breed in fire, lol. I’m less concerned about the park and more about the people. Nature isn’t weak and Yosemite is one of the few parks I’d say we have touched minimally, if that wasn’t the case I’d be more worried. Yosemite has seen fires before and will continue to see them, please be more informative about the risk to lives.

We need to understand that being at the top of the pyramid of creation means that everything we do trickles down the structure, from top to bottom. It is not as if previously, we were better people than we are today. It is simply that there were fewer people, and therefore fewer elements that exude ill will.
Also, relationships between people in the past were less toxic than they are today. While there are fewer wars today than ever, the levels of suspicion and alienation between people are skyrocketing, to the point where people can no longer trust their own family members. As a result, wars between countries are rarer than ever, but divorce rates, domestic violence, and violence in the community, are at an all-time high.
Even the internet, which we invented purportedly in order to connect people, is being used to abuse, deceive, and exploit people. The world-wide-web proves that everything we create, we use against others. When there is such a negative element in a system, and that element is at the top of the system, how can the entire system not go awry?
Therefore, if we want the weather to cool, the sea-level to drop, and the storms to subside, we must cool the fire and calm the storms between us. Mutual concern, mutual responsibility, or at least the knowledge that we are dependent on each other, are necessary in order to restore balance in our world at all levels, from the ground we walk on to the hatred in our hearts.
