A lawyer for former Nissan boss, Carlos Ghosn, says he feels betrayed by the Japanese justice system.
Ghosn fled Japan this week, claiming he was avoiding political persecution, over allegations of financial misconduct.
A private jet firm says a rogue employee falsified records and arranged flights for Ghosn. The company says the employee acted alone.

Not surprised he ran. Japan’s legal system is not well run — it’s overly punitive and gives too much power to police and prosecutors.
@Lonely Traveller well he ain’t the only one i guess… dude stop crying on every comment section on every Carlos Ghosn video lol
Soo?…. Just don’t commit crime in Japan!
Lonely Traveller can you tell why so little japanese get convicted compared to foreigners?
He just walked out?
Yu Zihao house arrest bro, not prison
lol
Looks bad for Japan, they let that corrupt corporate rat escape.
well, to be fair, he wasn’t found guilty yet, he’s presumed innocent. Another problem, Japan has a 99.5% conviction rate, by far the highest in the world, indicted people are almost never found innocent in Japan, the entire judicial system would lose face.
@toobalkain US federal court too have a 99% conviction rate I heard. Japan’s conviction rate for the arrested is 60-70%. This means that the prosecutors only play the game they are sure to win because there are many cases dismissed not going to court even arresed.
@Apple Soda 60-70% conviction rate in Japan? Where did you get that from, even the video above talks about 99%. And if the federal court has such a high % conviction rate too, I get it, they play it safe but at least in the case of Japan I’ve heard some pretty convincing arguments for the system being biased.
These corporate rats always claim to be Victims.
His eyebrows tells it all!!!!
Agree🤣😂
He could not rig the criminal justice system with his money, so ran away. He will be brought to justice eventually.
you dont know anything about japanese legal system, what the commentator told is right…i live in japan as foreigner for 8 years and usually japanese will not be prosecuted but bad luck if you are a foreigner lol
pinkie perky you can look on the news to find the basis for them to charge him…evidence for charging him? well i dont see it by myself so i am not so sure…it can be some of their execs scapegoating that guy or maybe he is actually guilty but who knows…but one thing for sure is that the authority will interrogate suspects into admitting themselves of their crime and they would not let the suspects to defend themselves until they admit wrongdoings…i have seen lots of these on foreigners but have not seen one on japanese yet lol surprise surprise i wonder why
What justice tho lmao
But he first used Japanese airport and Japanese emigration systems
Nissans quality took a nosedive after partnering with Renault
joebob he turn it around so he can secretly get a big piece of that money
@joebob yes by using cheap parts
@Joe Al lol he saved them from going bankrupt
@Joe Al lol no they couldn’t, they tried, the Japanese banks didn’t want to help then , if it wasn’t for Renault there would be no Nissan now
These Lebanese are very intelligent fraudsters
very intelligent indeed
He is a sephardic jew, carlos ghosn is not a arabic name but a spanish sephardic one
I thought that was Mr. Beans at first.
The question is, who was the pilot ?
Kayrul rudyne me
He used Mister Bean’s passport !
it worked out good😂
ouch! mean
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁👍👍
These companies are very sneaky they will do anything for money but Japan judicial system is at fault too such rich and person with multiple nationalities could get away easily if not incarcerated
Everything screams Agent about this guy….
This so-called specialist that you interviewed wasn’t making sense. He called tax evasion and money embezzlement a “minor crime”. Jesus, with people like that, no wonder we have a moral problem in our times. It’s as much as a crime as stealing in a supermarket or a shop. You go to jail in Japan for that so let alone stealing millions (the way I see it) for falling to declare properly your income and pay tax accordingly
pinkie perky I don’t agree my friend. You pay your fair share of tax. He is supposed to do the same because otherwise to finance the infrastructures we all benefit from, you’ll have a higher burden compare to him. So basically, it does hurt you without you knowing it because he is a cheat and evasive in all interpretations you can find of the term.
pinkie perky if they evade tax and cheat, of course. It does send a powerful message. I don’t know about your country but if you want a functional economy, I believe those are basics rules.
😂😂
False is False
money talks, bullshit walks , Lol
Don’t know why Japanese are behaving like saints as if like their system is good and straight forward… Let Japanese tell how all over the world terrorist organizations use toyoto pick ups which is a Japanese brand….
Well toyota pick ups are well built and reliable so it makes sense that terrorists think they’re the right choice.
The Japanese are not indirectly responsible for that. It’s the distributors around the middle east that sell to them (Turkey, Saudi etc)
banzaaiiiii321321 there’s no toyota pick-ups in Turkey
@Dat Dood nope, toyota is the only company that sells to anyone as long as there is a third party
@banzaaiiiii321321 false, they know about it and they most likely authorized the sale
When Carlos Ghosn was asked to join and Rescue Nissan. Nissan was in debt of 20 billion. Carlos Ghosn is accused of taking 5 million from Nissan. Then again Sony another Japanese company that tried to screw Michael Jackson. I believe Carlos Ghosn! He is not a hardcore criminal! What is embarrassing for Japan is to be ungreatful! Carlos Ghosn, changed the hierchy in Nissan. They were upset and mad at him for that! Carlos is not a fugitive! After rescuing Nissan I feel 5 million is nothing compared to saving a company that was nearly bankrupt! As a CEO it must have been in his package to get a percentage such as company stock! All those years devoted to the company!
lol Mwahahaha.. I’d do it.
Mr Ghosn’s face does look like Mr Bean’s face.
If you know the legal system in Japan is extreme, why would you go there and commit crimes. Japan is the safest country on Earth because of its extreme legal system.
“safest” lol
LOL safest? extreme legal system? more like a biased one
I believe Japan is the safest country.

Carlos Gone
It seems to be a bit daring feat. He must have some reason to do so.
Comments reflects the fact that people don’t do their homework this is all about Saikawa and his cohorts- sheer ignorance!
pinkie perky.
If you want further details than you have to go to Lebanon and ask the man himself since he ran away to prove his innocence.
pinkie perky.
Innocent or guilty let him prove it.
Running away like that just proves the opposite.
pinkie perky.
Whether he will win or lose? nobody knows.
Will this be the opportunity to expose this faulty system? Certainly this will raise some eyebrows!
Running away to prove you are innocent? The very opposite, this creates more problems.
While he is drinking coffee and enjoying his freedom what about those who helped him escape, do you think they will get a fair trial or even afford a lawyer?
Or will they be able to keep their jobs?
pinkie perky.
Drug dealers, rapists, murderers your name it, think they are innocent and if they have the means will try to escape.
pinkie perky.
You and I might think they are aware of it but as long as they say they are innocent than they have the chance to prove that.
Or do you think we should speculate that they are aware of it through them in jail without any trial ?
His escape was probably orchestrated by the President of Lebanon. Only someone like him could set the whole thing up unimpeded.
I own a Nissan car but I support Carlos ghosn. He did the right thing by escaping. It was purely a political persecution and escape from the horrible justice system.
@oneviwatara 99.999 percent he would have been convicted.
oneviwatara you dont know about japan legal system, it is a biased one
Yeah, they always mention human rights.
if he is American, they would not (dare) sue him.
He is a sephardic jew
Top ten anime escape!!!
How is the Radiation from Fukushima nuclear power plant?
Turkey is a snake, it needs to be crushed.
Yes i agree.
Complaining about persecution after you have stole money and on top of that runaway from the law.
If you are innocent than fight that in the courts.
first name last name.
So all you can say is 馬鹿?
Seems like people are the corrupt ones not the system.
first name last name.
Blaming the system when YOU are the cause of the problem, your last comment is proof.
Selective Justice, upper class getting away with crimes….why does these sound familiar? Never happens in the US or UK ?
He was needed by nissan until no longer needed..japan doesnt like foreign hero’s overseeing a Japanese icon. I’m sure the Japanese business governance the nissan board approved everything he is accused of..some accuse him of lavish life style but this comes with the job.. I’m sure nissan quality suffered since Renault got involved but it did save Nissan. Yes he might have a god complex but we all do.. he is not God.
If we could of we would have all done the same.. nice job..
Give me a name if ever anyone with money & powers has been caught.
Malaysia former Prime Minister, Najib will be the 1st
( $$$$$$ €€€€€€ £££££ )
Hi I from Turkey
Ghosn was integral to the development of electric cars in the US. My guess is he is getting persecuted for facing off against bit oil. Just a hunch.
Do your “thang” Ghosn! lmao
Just another middle eastern ” crook”, not interested to subscribe to this kind of news!
He is a sephardic jew not a middle eastern person
They let him out
I was thinking, when can Japan deal with the Fukushima nuclear leak? The polluted water has gone to the west coast of the United States and American countries, and then Japan plans to evaporate the nuclear waste water, which will be transferred to other countries through rainfall, and the Japanese are still whaling! Even though the whales are going extinct! Japan will never learn to be kind and frank
Wallah. Yallah. That’s how he escaped!
The airport security brought shame to their family…
It is unlikely that Ghosn was guilty of anything that is not common practice among Japanese CEOs. Certainly, it would not have involved jail time.
Japan’s prosecution had opposed to release Ghosn on bail, had kept eyes on bail violation, and took Ghosn into custody once.
that such prosecution of Japan had discontinued surveillance to Ghosn is very strange.
Why almost no one pronounces the “s” in his name?
Eliseu Monar dos Santos it’s silent.
Ghosn who walks!
Goes to show if you have money you can do anything. He only got away because he paid huge amounts of cash !!!
Jake is a local legend, knows his stuff.
Hahaha, in Australia, the lebs are all crooks. Even lebs tell me that they don’t trust their own kind.
As a Aussie leb, I’m half offended and half agree with ur comment lol
He said he will get a fair trial in Lebanon??? No. More like he can give a fair BRIBE to the judges and lawyers in Lebanon. He is such a lying guilty scumbag. Lol
Simple. Just stop employing foreign expatriates who might do stuff and later will refuse to respect your legal system
Samme Samme-nlar that’s pretty much what Nissan and Mitsubishi wanted…they wanted a Japanese national at the helm…but Renault obviously wanted to keep a French passport in the boardroom.
These gifts of houses etc were taken by CG on behalf of Nissan…he didn’t need them himself….it’s a trap.
In Europe or the rest of the world a court would slap a fine on him for few hundred thousand dollars but a Japan’s system doesn’t work like that. Nissan wanted to make an example out if him to show the world their Japanese cultural superiority.
Old story
Mr.beans real name Carlos Ghosn?
He should be arrested and face trial in Japan
He has the evil eyebrows.
Can you please send one for Julian Assange please? I’ll pay for it…
Japan is a scary country ! Who wants to buy Japanese cars now ? Disgrace on how he was treated and everything he says is backed by data…
Seems like in Japan there’s a conflict of interest between corporations and the State which diminishes the chance of a fair trial. Not to mention that due process was thrown out of the window…
Never give bail to someone who has citizenship in another country. Given the right opportunity they will always flee to their country of citizenship. Most countries won’t extradite their citizens to face prosecution from a foreign government unless it is an extremely horrific violent crime, and then still it is rare.
It will be more embarrassing for Japan to keep him so they ok’d his disappearance.
This guy is literally now a hero in the eyes of the world ! Japan has literally lost everything they had on the back of an absurd and fairly criminal-archaic behaviour and they have initiated the situation themselves. No human beings will look at Japanese citizens in the same way as before any longer. Their authorities have ruined their own people and culture ´s reputation. Are their leaders going to commit suicide / hara-kiri? The real question is why on earth they have done something so stupid and suicidal? Unless that this was just the historical occasion where they simply showed their true face to the world without being even self conscious of who they were. There will be a History of Japan Before Ghosn and After Ghosn.
I wonder how he travelled from Tokyo to Osaka for the flight out? Did he take the Bullet train?
