With wooden spinning wheels and hand-drawn looms, Bangladesh is painstakingly resurrecting a fabric once worn by Mughal emperors, Marie Antoinette and Jane Austen, but long thought forever lost to history.
Dhaka muslin was stitched from threads so fine that popular folklore in European parlours held that a change in the light or a sudden rain shower would render its wearer apparently naked.
The quest to bring back Bangladeshi muslin began with a painstaking five-year search for the specific flower used to weave the fabric, which only grows near the capital, Dhaka.

Many don’t think, it’s a fact that the British have destroyed this industry back then through every heinous mean possible, even cutting out the fingers of the people involved in this job.
Nice 👍🏿 😊
Glad to see former colonies getting rid of the legacies of British empire.
Bangladesh 🇧🇩🥰🥰
Lovely country
Cotton was cultivated in the Kapasia area from that sultanate period. The area is called Kapsia because of its cotton. Because there was a suitable place for cotton cultivation on both sides of Shitalakshya river. I hope the symbol of this glory of Bangladesh will come back again. It’s a huge success for Bangladesh & Bangladeshi scientists 🇧🇩❤️.
Joy Bangla ❤️🇧🇩

thanks

Muslin has glorious history.
Alhamdulillah
Love from Bangladesh
MashAllah!
I wonder to see, the 100 feet fabric and how it is being folded in only a 10 cm matchbox.!!! Strange, I heard this story from my grandmother and she heard from her grandparents and they also heard from her grand.. more than 2000 years old heritage!!
I know it may not possible to gain 100% traits of the fabric but if they are able to overcome at least 80-90% that is fine!!!
মশলিন বাংলার গর্ব,বাংলাদেশের গর্ব।ইনশাআল্লাহ আমরা আবারো প্রকৃত মশলিন বের করে আনবো
Joy Bangla 🇧🇩

Make in India too
❤️❤️❣️🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Bengalis stand up for your prophet or else these developments and blessings of almighty wont last long …you have survived not just bcs of your hard work but bcs of the blessings
Who wants their wives and daughters to wear see-through clothing? This will be extremely hard to wash, because the machine wash will ruin the fabric. I would suggest BD scientists try to find other uses for the fabric. It could be used in modern medicine, arts or fine arts. Moreover, this should be used for blended fabrics that are breathable, so should be able to create functional high-value fabric.
valo to Abr back miss it amp mar akta chill o before 1969
