In Indonesia, more than 6,300 people have been evacuated from their homes on the island of Flores. It’s due to increased activity from a volcano, which has erupted at least 200 times since Sunday. At least nine people have been killed in the latest clashes between members of rival ethnic groups in India’s northeastern state of Manipur, police said, as security forces pressed on with a hunt for illegal weapons. A wave of freezing temperatures is sweeping across much of Afghanistan. In roughly two weeks, more than 150 people have died. Most were those living in remote rural villages cut off by heavy snowfalls. It has thought to be the coldest winter Afghanistan has experienced in a decade – with temperatures as low as minus 34 degrees Celsius.
