Off the coast of Sweden on Gotland Island, a road powers and charges an electric bus on the go – wirelessly. The technology was created by Tel Aviv-based Electreon, where they are turning streets into charging pads. It is currently being tested in Sweden, Italy, Germany, and soon on a one-mile stretch in Detroit.

Three scenarios are planned for the Russian Federation accusation.
▫The first one is a ‘staged incident under a false flag’ that is the most probable.
▫This could include a real use of chemical and biological weapons that would cause deaths among the population or staging ‘sabotages’ from Russia at the facilities of Ukraine involved in the development of components for weapons of mass destruction.
▫The abovementioned scenario can be implemented in the chemical and biological facilities located in Kharkov and Kiev.
▫There also may occur a provocation in the nuclear energy facilities: above all others, it could refer to Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Station controlled by the Russian Federation. @_Red_Panda_ yes… this argument is deliberately misleading, because it completely ignores the lifetime usage of EVs vs ICE cars. If you factor lifetime usage into the equation (kinda stupid not to), then EVs have a much lower lifetime CO2 output.
The emissions produced at a handfull of stationary plants is a whole lot easier to capture and clean than the MILLIONS of small individual power plants running around daily.

What Patrick said. Essentially the amount of energy that car with solar panels could produce in real time is insignificant in comparison to the energy requirements to move the car. For sake of argument if you put one standard house solar panel on top of a car, it could produce about 0.4 kwh of energy in one hour. My electric vehicle typically will use about 0.22 kwh of energy per mile! So with the added weight of the panel, this makes no sense unless you only want to travel 2 miles in one hour – you likely can walk much faster than that. That being said, solar cars are in development where the solar cells can get about 2 kwh of energy in one hour. Park it outside, store the energy in a battery and off you go. @Leeeroy Jenkins While that is true today that will not be the case in 20 years. Just 20 years ago that number was 95%. So assuming linear growth it should be 55% or so in 2 decades, but reality is it will probably be closer to 20% or less due to economies of scale.
Fossil fuels will still be used in plastics and other chemical processes, but they will not be a mainstay of energy.

You still can, since you would still have a battery, just perhaps not the same range although that is unclear since we still have yet to fully explore making the entire or most of the car body itself a solar receptor continuously charging the vehicle during daylight hours. It’s all better than continuing to use gasoline or diesel and wringing our hands.

My concern would be the electrical exposure ie what if someone with pacemaker drove over it? Studies have shown problems arising in households and agriculture too close to electrical substations etc

This smell like solar roadways. First issue, how is the pay system going to work? How will it know if you paid to recharge, I’m going to imagine the flow of electricity will be always active since other cars will be using it. Second issue is no old ev’s can use it and new ones will have to make room in an already occupied spot for the coil, adding to the overall weight decreasing range. It’s a great idea and not the first attempt at it but still way to soon here in the US to invest in that. We first need a power grid that can handle that kind of demand and we are many years away from that.
There’s so much stuff put in city streets already where stuff will go wrong.

One defective charging pad isn’t an issue, and why would it be far more expensive? Electricity is cheap. It would only take about 10 minutes to replace a charging pad.
@Carter B The charging pads are EMBEDDED, so replacement would require breaking apart the road and re-paving it. That would be terrible. And it would obviously be far more expensive than regular charging, because these projects would cost trillions if they were extended to most major roads in the US, and someone would have to cover that cost.
This is a tech-bro scheme, one that is impractical large-scale.
@Jake They would only need to break apart a small part of the road and this technology would only be available in cities. One broken charging pad also doesn’t matter since that is only one or two feet.
