To be honest I partly agree with the MP. The activist was a British citizen involved in Egyptian politics & was trying to change government policy to something that suited his agenda better. If you free him he will just double down on his anti- government activism. This will cause a lot of instability in an already unstable region & isn’t good for the Egyptian people, so he should have his liberty curtailed until he promises to stop these activities & calling for insurrection.
@Biggi M Do you know or have you read his publications and statements that incite the killing of policemen, army men and judges? Is this acceptable in Britain? Or does Britain support terrorism and incitement to violence in Egypt? And it is indeed so, as the terrorist Brotherhood channels that incite terrorism, violence and the overthrow of the state are broadcast from Britain
@omor Faruk Foysal” dictator lover”….sounds like an Islamist backed by the west 😉
@Big Country Mears why are you involving yourself in something which is not your business?
Shall i talk about human rights in UK?
How dumb are you? The activist is 100% Egyptian and he spent his entire life in Egypt and married an Egyptian woman and has an Egyptian child from her. The only reason he is British cause he was granted the nationality as an exception since he was born there so they can pressure the Egyptian authorities to release him. A simple research will help you
@Kay Jr Exactly!
But nobody holds the west accountable in the modern world. 🙄
This Egyptian Stooges feelings were hurt.
How hospitable
If you’ve seen some travel blogs about Egypt since Sisi got the power there, you will understand why many Egyptians are mad at their government and why tourists avoid going there.
Egypt against of islam
Egypt against of allah
What’s the question Darwish made to Alaa’s sister?
And what is Alaa being accused of?
0:38 – something about making Egypt look bad in the west
Her brother shared isis propaganda on Facebook and he’s in jail. I think.
@Nader Nabil yes, it seems to be having him as an example of what NOT to do for the Egyptians.
If they made an agreement to release him and have him moved to another country which he’d live a discreet, reserved life…
This is is ridiculous. Though I don’t agree with the Egyptian government is doing, I also don’t agree with the MP being escorted out for speaking up. The UN has not right to do that and the MP had every right to ask that question and say what he wanted at the conference.
@Armaan Garg I did … but your response had nothing to do with your original statement. 2 points. 1. He made 2 statements before being asked to leave and his second statement was practically a threat, calling her a traitor.
So he was allowed to speak.
2. Again your original statement said he should have been allowed to get an answer ….but he posed no question. You can make assumptions… but I prefer to stick to the facts of the clip, and in the clip no question was asked.
That MP is just afraid that if more people speak up against their sh1tty Sisi government those corrupt people will lose their power and money. So he’s just afraid to lose his unlawfully acquired position lol. Give Egypt back to the Egyptians and take it away from Sisi and his pet d0gs.
@Chad Fife well he is allowed to say what he wants. Even if it is not a question, he is an MP and he is at the conference. If he wants to make threats he can, he should not be removed from the property. You can stick to facts of the clip, but that is not a full story because the full story never unveiled. That’s the problem with the world today; people like you don’t want to hear the full argument that other people are making. Nobody asked the MP if he had a question. That’s what you usually do when you are in a Q&A and a person is making statements. You ask them, “do you have a question” before taking the mic away from them. Just kicking people out of the venue is silencing.
@Armaan Garg well first. Since you weren’t there and I wasn’t there we can only discuss the facts in the clip. We can’t invent facts to fit the discussion.
Secondly… No being a MP does not give you the right to threaten people.
He was given the chance to speak..that we saw.
1st he choose to speak about her brother. Then he choose to call her a traitor and is a death penalty in Egypt.
She was a guest of the conference and he was threatening her with death.
He could have raised points of discussion or held his own press conference. In this world manners are important. She was a guest speaker and he was (from what we saw) just making statements and veiled threats. It is not his right to disrupt her.
Remember an MP is simply an ordinary citizen that has been selected to speak on the behalf of his district. He is not above the law.
@Armaan Garg just another reminder, you don’t know if he was asked if he had a question, you don’t know what happened. You assume he wasn’t because that helps your side of the argument. But you don’t know, neither do I.
That is why the discussion has to stick to the facts on the clip.
Everything else is fiction and either side can make up any story they want.
Nobody gonna confront US for Guantanamo, its all a political stunt
Stupid mp…….. Land of Egypt and north Africa belong to different people but this humans just annoys me seeing them in africa
I didn’t see a question from him. He said he wanted an answer to his question…yet all he did was make statements.
Question is why now?
MP being kicked out in his own country?
From the conference, not his country – it’s the UN’s conference
@Kristian Hermann is there country by the name “UN conference”?
@Said bin Ali bruh, he doesn’t have to attend the conference, no one forced him
He refused to give up the microphone and UN security had to step in.
Really bad of Al Jazeera not to show that clearly.
So apparently “UN Security” > Egyptian sovereignty. Interesting, given the “concern” with which some Western nations have expressed over the “sovereign rights” of (some) nations. (notably not including Iraq).

258. Have you not seen it,
who was in dispute with Abraham
in the matter of his Lord,
because God gave him a kingdom?
Her is what Abraham said:
“My Lord!
He is the one who gives life
and brings death.”
Abraham said:
“God brings the sun down from the east,
so bring them from the west!”
And whoeverdid not believe was embarrassed.
Goes does not leady the way of the unrighteous!
What about Julian assange
What are they so afraid of that they kick the man out without hearing the question?
“Cop” indeed!

Bruh we give this man and his country to show the world how great of a country they are and he ruins it
Egypt can suck a big one
Obviously sent by Sisi, the Egyptian media is modern. By Modern I mean they know the the power mass media has on controlling the narrative, squashing dissent and keeping the status quo of those in power. Democracy is just lip service all these countries are the same, there’s an illusion of choice.
What a bully
That finger waving will get you thrown into a police car.
What’s an MP ? ( Egyptian MP)
Member of Parliament
Down with Sisi 👏👏 Egypt’s money for the Egyptians and not the corrupt Sisi government. Bring them all down. 👏2
Al Jazeera spreads hate and propaganda against Egypt. Support for Egypt. ❤️

From what I understand the West and Egypt share a lot of common political and economic history. I don’t know the ladies back story or her brothers struggle… but yes, the news has been strategically weaponized and your concerns are legitimate. It’s brave to stand up and protest the cause 🙏🏽 I don’t know the exact scope of this situation 🤷🏾♂️ but I don’t think the west is against anyone and most countries have their own internal problems too 😐
The news is always weaponized.
Your right Western governments collude with tyrants all the time, doesn’t make the tyrants any less responsible for any unjust acts they may perpetrate but it does put the onus on us to hold our elected officials to account. And that’s about as likely to happen as global temperatures are likely to stay below a 1.5% increase.
What Egypt government gives out, it should be given back by the internationally eg. act unlawful / uncivi, DENY human rights, DENY legality of imprisonment / representation, DENY free speech, DENY the Egyptian people of genuine elections etc. Criminal politicians as shown here. Shoo Fly!!!
This is not a prisoner of conscience. Alaa Abdel-Fattah attacked and stole the weapon of an Egyptian soldier and threw it into the Nile. Nevertheless, he was released. Then he posted tweets calling for the killing of all the army and police and insulting the women of Egypt. On his tweets
I want to see what he said put the full video
Aljazeera is in Qatar an absolute monarchy & funded by its gov but criticize authoritarian regimes elsewhere & not its own its HYPOCRICY at its finest
Is it possible to find information somewhere about how individual activists traveled to the conference?
How many rode bicycles, how many rode camels and so on?
Environmental activists certainly don’t use airplanes. So across the sea perhaps by sailboat?
Clothing made only from natural materials and no plastic products, nor any electronics?
A prisoner on criminal charges that has nothing to do with the opinions of the free
The prisoner threatened the army, the police, and the judiciary with killing and killing the children of the policemen
Any more lies you have to spread?
Alaa’s case is simple: He was a prominent opposition leader during 2011 uprising. For 9 years he’s been imprisoned, legally and illegally, in known and unknown locations. Now he’s imprisoned for “spreading fake news” that is an exact, honest translation of the charge against him. The court responsible for his case refuses any appeal on the sentence, refuses to give his defense team any of his case files. Even refuses his British consulate official to visit him in prison. This is what Alaa’s family is up against. You can @ me if you need any inquiry about Alaa’s case. Just ignore the bots and trolls who – no kidding – are calling for “capital punishment” for sharing a stupid facebook post!
@Dream Journal You will know who is stupid when your brother is killed and a quarter of a million simple civilians are killed and the army, police and judiciary are threatened with death. This is a lie, donkeys.
@Nader Nabil Why was he imprisoned? Wasn’t the uprising successful?
They are tyrants, Egypt has became like north of Korea with this military regime
Al-Jazeera English channel threatens relations between Egypt and Qatar
@الخارجيه_ا القطرية
What an idiot
Shame on the military state in Egypt
What he said is true.
All these so called humanitarians, social activists, journalists, ‘changemakers’ these are spawns of the West.
They are paid to create colour revolutions and trouble.
He is angry because he thinks this activist was there to kill him perhaps?
Birds of a feather flock together looks like al sisi family same o same o
