In terms of how much money I make:
I realize that my cost of goods is pretty high, and my total profit would be much more if I could bring those costs down. HOWEVER, the entire point of doing all of this was so I could test out the demand, and try a proof of concept to see if this was something worth pursuing.
If I were going to go all out with this, and really dedicate my time to selling merch…knowing what I know now, I’d likely pre-order the most popular items in bulk, going with a fulfillment center like 3PL which would manage the supply and inventory – and they’d charge a small fee per order. Doing that would give me much better profit margins in terms of selling merch.
Secondly, to be completely honest…I thought selling merch would be a REALLY easy thing to do. It seems like EVERY YouTuber is doing it, so I just assumed it would be a super viable business right from the start…but, I quickly realized that was wrong. I thought this was something I could just throw in the description and it would sell itself, but nope…in order for sales to go up, I need to be continually mentioning the store and bringing up it’s awareness.
And that brings me to my third realization…I’m not a great salesperson, and I don’t feel good constantly pushing something down your throat. Doing something like that doesn’t come naturally to me, but I also realize it’s something I have to do in order for people to actually know about it…and there’s a fine balance between how much I can mention something before it starts getting really annoying.
Given that, I was faced with a realization…I don’t want to pitch a product all the time, so when I DO want to mention something, I have to be VERY selective about it…and the fact is, if I’m going to “pitch something,” it’s MUCH better for me to promote my program than it is my merch line – which which is a pretty low ROI, all things considered.

FACEBOOK ADS M8 that will get u more orders
Graham, how much do you make off your Amazon ref. links?
Mate, good job setting up your own infrastructure. Unfortunately it fails if you dont spend time and energy focusing on it. For example I ordered a product from your store over a month ago. Although it’s been shipped by your team, it hasnt moved from DHL’s ecommerce store since the 3rd of October. I have contacted them and they told me to contact the merchant.
I contacted your store via the support email provided and have yet to receive a reply, correspondence or the product I purchased.
Huge fan of what you do, thus the reason I bought merch… let down tho mate.
“I’m not a great sales person” Don’t you work as a real estate sales man…. You are the sales man !
Hi Graham
What is the watch you are wearing? Is It a new Zenith?
WeAR ThE MeRCH
At least he understands that pushing his products all the time can be annoying hence why I stopped watching MeetKevin. He needs to give a rest with his programs.
Asking to smash the like button will never get annoying.
Funny you can’t say you have T-shirt’s but you say hit the like button 100x lol.
Just say “hey I have merch. Link below” lol
graham have you considered hiring an editor? your editing is great but it could free up a bunch of time for you
6:05 is what you’re looking for
So how much have you made off of your course?
Total? Probably about $350k so far, I’m guessing
@Graham Stephan Not bad that definitely has some good ROI
I think you need to look at you own site, not going though shopfly.
Test the ol Alex becker method and just retarget video viewers with your ads. That way you don’t have to push it down peoples throat in your content videos. Your followers would rather see an ad from you than a Fiverr or Tail Lopez ad lol
Graham, you just need to mention the merch the way Linus (lttstoredotcom) does.
It’s so effective I just advertised it just now. lol
Thanks for making this video. I appreciate your time and effort
Just Plug it at the end of the video my guy. Like, say you have merch and stuff and tell them where you get it. It will be less intrusive to people
waiting for christmas season, there are the most sales
Your merch is NOT that cool. That is why you don’t sell much in addition that few knew you had merch.
Good skill stacking though just in case you brainstorm and get some cool wording for merch. It could be a revenue boost.
Good insight into the merchandise business!
Getting real damn tired of these kevin David ads
Selling realestate and not a good seller…. 😉
Selling the merch may also be generating unrealized profits through advertising your channel and increasing views.
Imma killer merch kinda guy lol
Dude I been here like 9 months…but I watch on mobile.. so until u just mentioned merch…I had no clue u even had a shop…u should atleast mention it atleast once a month
Great way to pitch the merch! Had no idea it existed
In a lot of your videos you dont wear your merch. If you wore your merch in more of your video sales would pick up.
You need more designs. I checked out the store and while the prices are premium the designs are pretty average.
Love the straight up honesty in this video.
“If you invest this income for 40 years you will become a millionaire”
So I’ve got to ask, has anyone purchased the $5000 gallon of bathwater yet? 😛
Don’t the customers get price tag 🏷 saying price u bought from printful
Gram merch for Christmas!!!!🍒❤️
Did you delete my comments or youtube
Killer Merch….according to Shanes documentary he sells alot of youtubers merch and is fairly dividing profit….
Not a good salesmen… must not be a ambivert
Who takes care of the sales tax on the items? The company that handles printing and shipping or you? I was once told I would have to pay sales tax in each location the item was shipped to. That seemed overwhelming for a small business owner to handle.
wow

Graham: I’m not a great sales person
ALSO Graham: I also a millionaire realtor
Graham, did you incorporate yourself? Would you consider a video on pluses/minuses?
wait the hat matches with you well on this video. You Shove down my throat “sub and like”
HOW TALL ARE YOU
wow u have a program? i watch your videos and I just found out lol
Avocado toast society, , , , ha ha to-do list, hit the like button 2sec… You never miss a chance ya.
Graham: “I don’t feel good constantly pushing something down your throat”
Also Graham: “SmAS tHaT Lik3 BUTton” 5 times in every video
Couldn’t this be considered as dropshipping?
Have you ever considered making an outro screen with buttons for sunscribing, recommended video(s) wnd a merch link?
plates, or those green plastic avocado storage pieces that say avocado toast.
It’s because you didn’t put the link in your bio. ☹️
When you make more money on the video “how much I make selling merch” than the actual merch 😂
Top tier youtuber right here, keep it up Graham!
I love how Graham marketed his merch by making a whole video about it which also makes him money. It’s a win – win 🙂
This vid prolly gonna blow up too
I’m sorry, Graham. I’m just allergic to avocados.
nooooOOOoo
Vince Wang is fiiiiine 👌 oop
Educational channels should sell courses not clothing to maximize profits I think.
“smash the like button” mugs?

Try selling on Etsy. It has the same integration as shopify with no monthly fee. Only a 0.20 cent fee for listing. And free traffic or you can pay for advertising if you like.
Rando question, but is single family rental property still a good investment when your area is building new apartments and a new townhouse development?
Where can I buy this dinosaur skull?!
how do i block you? i just dont wanna see you in my timeline.
You find out what he made in 6:04, you’re welcome
Graham Stephan 🙂
Here’s were you messed up:
Don’t be other YouTubers be yourself.
I love that you see every money making opportunity and run with it. Very admirable.
And then we hire a graphic designer… (Picture of the designs… a red square with white text on top) TAKE MY MONEY!
Evening Graham, hopefully you get back to me on this, if you do I’d greatly appreciate it.
With the automation of many career paths, real estate agent being one of them. Would you consider real estate a Good career to still get into?
Thank you,
Id buy a 20 cent ice coffee shirt and go into starbucks/scooters and see their reaction. That would be fun
Graham I wouldn’t even buy your merch at your cost, you have an audience of fairly well educated cheap-fucks which might be your problem.
You should make some contest where the subscribers/people come up with a design/idea for a merch t-shirt and the people vote on what t shirt idea/design should win. The winner would get the t-shirt for free. The benefits for you would be the extra people that might come for the challenge, the engagement, exposure for your merch website, you get new design ideas that you might not have thought of your self that would be really good, and lastly the people choose the shirt so the people who voted would probably get it them selves and also would be helpful with other subscribers probably liking that shirt as well. Just an idea 🙂
After seeing this, I’ve realized the 3 most popular methods are:
1. Teespring
2. Big cartel + Printful
3. Shopify + Printful
Thanks Graham!
Definitely gonna look into Shopify when the time comes for me!
Hit us up if you need merch printed 🔥
Thanks for breaking it down Graham! Love how transparent you make your business which can help people starting out!
The only one getting rich is the merch making company
I’m sorry
I love how almost no one has mentioned the bath water lmao. Good move graham.
this video deserves more hype
What about fanjoy ?
You encourage us to save money and inspire us to cut costs, so selling merch kinda counteracts that, like I wanna buy it but also dont because of your advice on saving money lol
I’ve been in the Print-on-demand space since 2013 and can tell you that the problem you have is 1) Your designs are not good enough, 2) marketing could be better and 3) you’re using thew wrong se tup with shopify and prinful (there are better options out there that will give you more margins)
I’d like to know how many free stocks you’ve gotten?
Plz help me do you have to buy mearch to sell it
Thanks for doing this, I actually really needed this info 👍🏻
Printify is cheaper.
Do you need a permit do sell merch like this
yey
I got my new “DISLIKE UNSUB” mug and hat and LOVE them!!
I think for your niche selling clothing isn’t a profitable avenue. Since you are into giving financial advise. I would say selling programs, templates or books is your selling zone. I have never heard anyone go crazy for a financial advisors shirt.
Please help so I made my website already not with Shopify . Could I still some how work with print full and attach it to my website? Or I would still need to get Shopify
ghram u should adrtvise ur merch insted of the like buttoun
How big should the band be before they start selling merchandise? There are many videos encouraging bands to sell merchandise and we sell t-shirts, custom art, and CDs, but it’s still requires a large investment of time and energy for very little return. I spend way more time preparing to sell merch than we do actually selling merch.
Why don”t you sell books on your website?
Great info I think I’ll save myself the headache
You have a platform so for someone who’s nothing im not going to make money this way?
A year passed. On the channel with 2.8M subscribers only 109K views… Something is fishy.
Amazing information! 👍😃👍
You forgot “Taxes”
So basically you have ti go through a middle man to sell merch on youtube??? I cant ship from home? 🤔
Nice to know the backcosts of what these products are. Considering pulling the trigger on a jumper “Dislike, Unsub”. I’m genuinely surprised the hats cost that much on your side. I’m sure they’re quality but $16 USD for a hat is crazy! Would have no issues paying $27 for a high quality hoodie any day of the week.
