No matter the number of arrest, it won’t bring those that past on back to life. Corrupt government took bribe for them to be able to put up substandard buildings. All Corrupt government will be judged, since they meddle with people’s lives for their own selfish interests.
The building department of that country has to approve it so who’s really to blame

There isn’t a building on earth that’s totally earthquake proof
Many of the buildings left standing in Turkey were right next to others that totally collapsed, so that means there was a difference in how they were constructed.
Sure, but just compare similar quakes on actual “Earthquake-proof” cities. A quake hit San Francisco in the 1980s that was above magnitude 7 and it killed 63 people. The death toll for this quake is already 25k and they estimate it could ultimately reach 50k once the damage is cleared. Considering the actual building codes and regulations, destruction and death to this extent shouldn’t have happened.
Here in Japan earthquakes are very common, even at magnitude 7 our buildings still withstand much of it.
Blame the developers.
But they are not blaming the officials who inspected and approved the building was safe! 😂

Very true and also many many buildings in Saudia Arabia are getting designed and constructed by improper engineers from Egypt etc are completely under designed against earth quake even more against its own gravity loads the walls are getting compressed to barely stand. Oh well if they are held responsible. They should have done their jobs. So I guess if they are negligent they should just walk free according to this reporter.
Funny. The government thinks this way as do doctors and health care professionals as does the media and their reporters. If that’s the case why should anyone get prosecuted for any crimes or held financially accountable. I guess only the “poor people” can be prosecuted right?

With the benefit of hindsight, I sincerely hope that lessons will be learned this time and building safety procedures will be reviewed thoroughly and vigorously to ensure that this doesn’t occur again on Turkish soil. Prayers, vigils, resolve and meaningful action, not the usual lip service given by opportunistic career politicians.
The government once again shifting the blame. As if they had no idea.

Investigate those who inspect and approach the construction. Local authorities are also responsible for these destruction . It take more than two to tango. Follow the money trail. Corrupted officers are also murders. When the taking stops life could be saved. Only when thousands are killed only they start fingers pointing.
