Rainforests in central Africa are rapidly disappearing due to logging and mining.
It is one of the issues on the agenda at the One Forest Summit, under way in Gabon.
The timber from these rainforests, now used to make furniture for people in wealthier countries, was once part of what has been called the planet’s “other lung” and a precious natural barrier to climate change.
Al Jazeera’s Nicolas Haque reports from Pande in Cameroon’s Congo River Basin, where he met the Indigenous Pygmy people who call the forest home.

considering , if the land is good for food , might even be better.
The world has two choices… accept each country controls and owns its own ecosystems… or violently enforce international laws and reforms…. what one do you all want?
They have a name, it’s Batwa or Twa.
The world needs a depopulation period
Down with the Rainforest!!!
So called carbon capture technology companies get hundreds of millions of subsidies from government in developed countries while people who protect the forests get nothing ( even i the developed countries ). Climate change has global consequences. These forests are also carbon capturing global carbon that are emitted by rich countries. Despite that, how come people don’t get a dime for protecting ?
Stupid Cameroonians.
