What moron came up with this plan? It’s like blaming the customer for being a target of theft. Idiots…?
Who tf wants to steal a Kia? I don’t even want to buy one, let alone steal it.
Lol add Nissan too
Boy I was 2.5 seconds from getting a Kia but I went with Mazda instead. God is good.
So KIA and Hyundai know about this but have not done a recall? That’s unacceptable….
12 year old kids in Alabama make these cars, Kia/Hyundai should be put out of business
When vehicle owners are required by law to insure their vehicles, insurers should be mandated to insure vehicles, and regardless of insurer, rates should be universal across the board since, well, insurance is required by law.
I didn’t even bother looking at kias or Hyundai’s to buy when I got a new car. I don’t really blame them because there’s a large list of cars that are easily stolen, I blame the thieves and the people on the internet for telling the criminals how to do it.
Like many things, what were intended security features are ultimately a vulnerability.
Da yoots are untouchable. Anyone know why?👶🏾
I wish we can install a bear trap or high voltage so if you make an attempt you die on the spot.
Posting a “stolen car haul” is crazy 😭
Upgrading technology and software updates? Although not infallible, there seemed to be less of an issue when we all had to have keys. Just saying. Are we sure more technology and software upgrades are in everyone’s best interest? It might be. But it’s an important question that needs to be asked.
A slight correction: This does NOT affect their push-to-start cars. Those have an immobilizer and don’t have an ignition cylinder to turn. The ones with an actual ignition cylinder with a key do NOT have an immobilizer and are vulnerable to this.
Time to get rid of keyless ignition and go back to the good old days?
That’s social media for you.
A whole life in front of them? Probably a long life of jail, prison, or other crimes. Maybe they could have turned things around but that potential was taken when they were being fools and got themselves killed.
Anyone with a IQ larger than their shoe size already knew the 2 car brands were trash long before hood rats knew they were easy theft targets… so… they’re doing people a favor.
Hyundai and Kia killing propaganda
I wish they would make much harsher punishments for things like grand theft auto (not the game lol). It’s utterly ridiculous what hardworking citizens have to go through because of the actions of these lowlife idiots.
Insurance is the biggest legal scam in the US
Oh sure, don’t go after the criminals . Go after the regular people.
Swift de life penalty for car theft would drastically reduce that. America coddles criminals that wreck not only cars, but peoples lives.
1:23 Yep, imagine all the cars they could have stolen had their lives not been cut short due to their own actions.
First they need to make car insurance affordable anyway and second both Kia and Hondai should come up with an insurance plan for these owners
That’s what you get for buying cheap brands. Plus… the certain type of hoodlums and hooligans who still these cars are low-lives who should be sent away. 👀👀👈👈
She had it coming for wearing such a skimpy outfit.
Here’s a novel idea; why don’t we start punishing those who commit the crimes – SEVERELY, instead of punishing the victims? It truly is a sign of just how sh!tty our society has become when the answer to such events is to blame the vehicles for being too easy to steal, instead of focusing on developing methods of deterring wannabe thieves from wanting to steal the vehicle to begin with.
Those four teens made there choice to steal the car, and they paid the price.🤷🏻
Only seeing one race in this video
Is there anything that these thieves have in common?
This is wrong for the people who were unfortunate enough to but that car. More should be done from the motor car company.
The insurance companies just want you to pay and they give you nothing, that’s their policy.
Stupid people stole my 2020 Hyundai Sonata brand new with less than 10000 miles. Left it on the street for a 3-day weekend Excursion, it was gone all for a catalytic converter. Declare total loss because they found marijuana bud in the seat and said it was now a fire hazard. Gave me a check for $24,000, what can I get for $24,000 in today’s overpriced chip shortage Market. Keep in mind this was about four months ago when everything was 15K above MSRP. Thank God I have multiple cars and live in a top-notch neighborhood, my point is they are stealing these cars from everywhere. I was planning on selling my other cars giving that one to my family members Men Moving abroad, force me to spend 40K on a brand-new similar car. I’ve seen owners rigged their cars with homemade anti-theft devices that are probably illegal but need to be broadcasted so that there’s a fear in these criminals for stealing property.
What’s the make and model of the Hyundai and Kia in question ?
I knew all those stupid foreign all high tech/electronic cars would be easy to hack and steal I don’t trust them
To me the biggest culprits in all of this besides the thieves are the social media companies that promote these video
Clubs are easy to remove.
They need to reimburse the owners
Insurance companies make enough money. What a joke.
The obedient corporative media never ceases to amuse me.
These bad news are very convenient when Korean cars are starting to invade US market due to their quality, price and reliability. Interestingly, this apocalyptic problem is not particularly relevant in Europe, where both brands have a good share of cars.
This is another example of the US’s free trade point of view. Ask Japanese brands on 80s or 90s.
The fact is these cars are getting ripped off constantly.
Oh thank god I found this out, I was car shopping the other day and almost settled on a Kia. It had all the features I wanted, just thought it was to cramped on the inside and decided to pass. Definitely looking at other brands now.
Good Subaru dealers offer anti theft improvements. They will use a peripheral control in the car ( like put wiper on speed 2) to add to the starting process. The control used is random and could be almost anything, making it hard to figure out. My moms car, a 2014 Impreza, has this and I think it’s great.
I really don’t know how people looking to buy a new car can be unaware of this issue. It’s been (inter)national news for years at this point, and the issue has not gotten any better.
I understand the outrage towards the manufacturers, but where is the outrage towards the low life POS scum that steal these vehicles?
My apartment complex has had 6 out of 7 kia/hyundia stolen, only 1 returned in decent shape, 4 totalled less than 5 miles away. The only not stolen is the only one with a club. Yes, laugh, as they all do.. but guess who doesnt want to spend several minutes when u can spend 30 seconds on the next one over… thieves.
That one did have a window smashed though, but thats half the cars in the lot.
Prior to 2022, we had only one incident in 3 years of cars broken in to, none stolen.
attention Kia and Hyundai owners locate your fuel pump relay in your fuse box remove it from fuse box and take it inside your home problem-solve the engine will only run for a few seconds!!!
If only there was a way to mirror EXACTLY Singapore’s criminal justice laws here in the USA with heavy fines, canning, mandatory prison, etc for thieves, and if that doesn’t work, then we proceed with mirroring Saudi Arabia’s anti-theft laws., and yet oif that is not enough, then we proceed with mirroring North Korea’s anti-theft laws..I think that could be a viable solution as well.
The real theft is the insurance companies
I recommend any Kia, Hyundai, Genesis made after 2018. So 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and after. Nothing before that.
Stop buying Korean JUNK! there’s a reason their “affordable”
Target the parents of the teens who allow their kids to act like animals…
Anybody notice the common factor in all the cars being stolen videos . BLM far as I’m concerned they don’t.
It’s amazing how these social media sites allow these videos to be posted by black criminals. But when you talk about the percentage of the crimes committed in this country by black people. They want it sent to you. Especially YouTube and Facebook.
Teach your mf kids not to be criminals. I’m happy that the 4 teens. They got a well earned grave.
Hyundai is going to do software upgrades in 2023. The best deterrent is The Club and attaching the enclosed window sticker to the car window. There is an expensive 3rd party kit for $170 plus installation. See if you can get a window sticker after completing the software upgrade on your Hyundai or Kia. Newer models have the immobilizer installed. It is the older models that need the recall and fix done.
If you have a either of these cars at this point it’s honestly your own fault if anything happens.
These insurance companies still make insane levels of bank; just change the policy to total out any of the vehicles stolen with this method, and part out the vehicles for recycling.
yea. lets blame the cars. insurance company’s will do anything.
They aren’t blaming the cars, they’re not insuring them so they don’t have to cover them when they get stolen and destroyed
If this happened to me I’d sue Kia and Hyundai for the cost of a new car….
OMG, green energy Joe Biden just approved an oil pipeline in Alaska. Also, several banks failed over the weekend, in the process, Joe Biden nationalized the US banking system bailing out Corporate America… Lying Joe Biden…
Put a bomb in the cars kinda like a rat trap
Kia and Hyundai is a pos. Not worthy
Imagine being a Kia or Hyundai owner in 2023
Kia insurance $1000 a month
I am suing both State Farm and Progressive for this and I don’t even need insurance. But it is illegal to not have insurance. They can’t refuse to insure my vehicle leaving me to get in trouble. That’s illegal and grounds for a lawsuit….
Doesn’t affect me. I don’t buy Hyundai or Kia
The video title reads like a meme
I don’t understand how insurance companies are legally able to do this. We pay all this money into these companies. To get denied over something we cannot control.
State Farm is horrible.
Now yall can thank them low life Kia boy
Lol and people still try and say crime isn’t going up.
When insurance companies won’t cover cars, that leads to less sales for those car companies, everything is collapsing thanks to crime
Lol when you realize State Farm and progressive are trash insurance company’s lmao they will fight you tooth and nail not to pay anything out if your car gets totaled or you get injured
I think it’s a valid point that it is wrong of Kia to cheap out on the ignition interlock. I think it’s equally wrong to say the thefts are a result of the cars defect. The thefts are a result of criminals who do not fear consequences for their actions. They are dishonest to begin with, and now they know they can continue on that way.
I saw another youtube mentioning that the Dodge Charger and Hellcat can be stolen with a laptop. You enter the car’s programming and change the key code to your own and take the car away.
Insurance companies are being racists
thanks black people
Legalize abortion again and it will hopefully eliminate some of these issues.
Yeah so here we have a moral conundrum. We have idiots running the world and have no one in line to help. We are a doomed society. The kids who are creating a hostile world ‘re being cheered on by media because it keeps their stories full and pockets padded. There is an absolute resolve for all this but political rhetoric is playing games and this new wave of liberal teachers are egging these kids on. This what common core got us. This is what participation awards got us. Hope you idiots are happy.
All this because many car thieves are given a pass so they can become famous rappers.
“Where ‘teens’ show step by step” Why don’t we just say criminals?
All done by black people
Certain states with higher theft rates, anyone know what political party has had power in said areas?
You got a law passed in my state requiring everyone to carry insurance. It should be illegal to deny coverage just because a model hurts your bottom line.
You shouldn’t be driving a KIA. Killed In Action
Keep voting blue
Literally why we can’t have nice things. Literally.
I think the government should force a recall of every single one!!
Great. The Bible is so true, everything in it is coming true right before our eyes! DANGER IS COMING TO THIS WORLD. Your only hope for escape is Jesus Christ. 💯❤️
maybe if the cops and district attorney actually did their job
Cheap foreign trinkets should never be a car or a long term investment.
My family member actually had rubber covered-metal chains on both sets of wheels (back/front) along with a club on the steering wheel as a deterrent.
Never got their vehicle stolen in the city or areas prone to crazy crap like this but that sucked he had to go to that level
Glad they got out from under that vehicle payment. I’m not sure if they sold it as a minor loss but the headache is gone
Good
Both these co.panies are the worst in the country.
the club is back!!!
It’s incredible how many people are defending the insurance companies on this. The main group affected are ppl who bought a Kia before they knew it was an issue.
And now they are getting dropped or paying otherworldly prices for something that wasn’t their fault and is required to have. “But they have to make money!”
SF had a $140billion net in auto and payed 9% of that for claims.
1.1 Trillion! net in life insurance, paying out 1% in claims. The CEO has a 20mil salary. Don’t worry, they’re making money..
It’d be okay if they simply stopped issuing for new purchases, that would hurt Kia more than the consumer. But price hikes absolutely need to be regulated and dropping ppl like this should be illegal.
We have always been screwed by insurance companies and it’s gross how many ppl seem to love it.
Hmmm Fascinating Behavior
This is how people die
What KIA isn’t saying and the news never picks up is that you don’t even need a USB. They just use it because they don’t have the strength to the ignition by hand. But it is that easy. There’s zero security features on those car. Other than a rock to break the window you don’t need anything to take one.
They should give apple airtags and try and catch these criminals.
Why buy a Kia/Hyundai in the first place?
