A giant panda who spent two decades in the United States has been welcomed home to China.
Ya Ya has been the subject of passionate discussions on social media, with many Chinese users accusing the US of neglecting her despite veterinarians saying she had been well cared for.

🐼 *Sincerely hope Yaya will do much better* in China! But *what happened to all the old pandas that returned* from overseas? Haven’t seen anything more reported of them after the fanfare of their plane trips back. Why are people and the Chinese government saying that Ya Ya and Le Le were well taken care of or that the zoo staff just didn’t know how to take care of pandas. It absurd! Le Le died. There are so many videos documenting the lack of food, basic care, medical care or any supervision. They were visibly sick, malnourished and SUFFERING over A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. They saw it, but did nothing. Pandas need to eat a lot! And all they had was dried, old bamboo that they could not eat because their teeth were rotten. They were suffering! If a dog was in that condition, there would be outrage, and the people responsible for their abuse and neglect would be jailed (in some states). This was plain and simple deliberate killing of Le Le, which is murder, and deliberate abuse of Ya Ya for attempted murder. They watched them suffer, and just waited for them to die a slow painful death. I live in the US, and I know for a fact that most Americans are so brainwashed to hate China and the Chinese people. Currently, the hatred is so deep that these murdering bastards were taking it out on poor defenseless animals.
Look I’m American and if that panda was abused I’m mad ! I don’t like seeing any animals abused so don’t blame all Americans…
It was memphis zoo staff that people are mad with, the zoo claimed that both of the pandas were healthy and well looked after.
However, sadly panda LeLe died in the middle of night which were seen by many via live cam, people were desperately trying to contact zoo staff but failed, LeLe’s body only discovered next day after lying there for hours. In terms of YaYa, anyone with eyes could see her condition was not much better……
If you love them set them free from Memphis zoo.
No point to suffer the panda for whatever reason, financial burden or politician war sentiment against China.

The zoo did not take good care of them. Lele and Yaya did not have proper and sufficient food as well as medical care. Back in 2021, US animal organization already raised their concerns that the two pandas require urgent attention before too late.
