Senegalese opposition leader Ousmane Sonko says he is being “illegally held” by security forces.
Sonko has called on his supporters to protest, leading to fierce fighting between demonstrators and police in some neighbourhoods in Senegal’s capital.

Mackay Sahl is a French puppet. He’s a traitor thief married to a French woman sending the wealth of Senegal to France!!!! The majority of the Africans drowning in the Mediterranean are from Senega. They should be at home enjoying prosperity but this puppet THIEF is giving it away😮 Get this THIEF out!!!!
So this is what the fortunately failed capitol gone was about
Bravo ! For your report, the Senegalese media are muzzled, Macky Sale the dictator president is responsible for about twenty people killed since March 2021, he has imprisoned more than 400 people including journalists, activists, teachers and ordinary citizens who fight against the injustice suffered by O. Sonko, the opposition and the end of the rule of law in Senegal.
This thirsty for power directs us towards civil war, Macky Sale retreats !
What is France role in this ?
@Gichu Njururi In a way yes, in mainly French-speaking Africa, some leaders sell their natural wealth to foreign powers by signing contracts unfavorable to the people but they and their relatives fill their pockets, to the detriment of the population with the majority of young people who do not find work, desperate (the average age of the Senegalese population is 19 years old) who go to sea to leave Europe in inhuman conditions worse than slavery when men and women crossed the Atlantic Ocean chained in slave boats to be slaves in Europe and America.
@Awa 🌙 I love Senegal and Senegalese as a British-born Nigerian…. I have had the privilege to leave in Dakar almost the lovely people and I can attest to the fact that there is great marginalization between the rich and the poor and it saddens me to see this increasing, …. cost of things is rising to an extent the locals cannot live comfortably only outsiders with external currency can afford to live in the country comfortably, and this is leading to slavery all over again….I will not stand for that…..
Furthermore, as the giant of Africa if Nigeria was not so messed up and corrupt itself this is where they are needed to step in as they have done in the past…
@Chaos Nature
Thank you for this beautiful testimony on Senegal even if currently there is a lot of change in society.
Unlike English-speaking African countries, Francophones often cling to power, for example in Nigeria Bukhari has not tried to remain in power yet, he leaves room for others.
Macky Sale was elected in 2012 because À.Wade still wanted to remain in power, he had promised and voted in a referendum the limitation to two consecutive terms, he betrayed him.
The inequalities that are growing are due to the wealth that is kept for those close to power, Senegal is a very small country compared to Nigeria, less than 197 thousand square kilometers, a population of about 17 million people whose average age is 19 years, despite all natural resources and soon the exploitation of gas and oil, unemployment, social and economic injustice are increasing, young people are tired.
@Awa 🌙 You are right with the comparison as Nigeria is over 200 million almost compared to the whole of the US population…this leads me to add that, it should be easier to govern a smaller population and with a smaller population like Dakar I expected more stability which there was, but most importantly fair economic spread amongst the youth, graduates and the less fortunate as you would see in other smaller populated African countries like Togo, Botswana, and even south africa…..I am not happy that more than 60 % of the indigenous suffer economically and this is probably a result of movements not caring, keeping wealth within themselves, not to mention the outsiders, and by outsiders I mean European (France) influence.. there is clear demarcation: Almeadies and a few other places in Dakar are where the rich stay and is like a different country in the same country when you travel out of that zone….that is very bad….in my opinion.
What kind of leader would instigate fighting within his supporters
Sonko is a leader of every African and the only hope of the people to govern Senegal.
They accused him of unproven and ridiculous things that eventually fell into the water. The people are against this dictator who committed serious acts never done in Senegal in recruiting people with weapons without police uniform, killing and banning peaceful demonstrators and violating the constitution.
The dictator threatened the police and recruited undressed nervi. And both fire live ammunition at the people. The dictator threatened the judge to put sonko in the fastest prison. The dictator eliminated the chief gendarmerie, police to recruit the work room. The girl who accused Sonko without proof was poor. now has a lawyer of the president who has become the most protected in Senegal
Free sonko free Senegal
This is abig mockery and an illusion to the democratic principles Senegal is known for. Monster Macky is all out to squash all the gains that the citizens fought hard to entrench in the political space . Mackys eye on the gas and petroleum lucrative deals in the offing and had plans to entrench forcefully his tight grip on power ignoring the basic tenets of the constitution that allows only a two term mandate. Monster Macky your illicit plans will fall flat on your face and your corrupt cabal. Senegal do not need a tyrant respect our democracy and it’s principles.
France is behind this…
Destroying public and private property for a politician is not peaceful protesting. You’re ruining lives with your behavior. You’ll see it all when he comes to power. Wake up youth!!!
and what do you suggest….?
So all this for a candidate who has nothing but promises??? You destroy your own country for what? I dont understand Black people
if you spent time in Senegal you will understand….., if you do nothing, slavery will continue, it is a statement….a message and it is intelligently sent as opposed to other nations i know….
I love Senegal and Senegalese as a British-born Nigerian….

Macky dégage
I am sonko!💖✨💖
Senegal protesters want an end to the western puppet regime of Macky Sall & demand full control of their vast mineral wealth that western multinationals are looting.
Lui il vas se faire tuer avant la fin des manifestations
Where there is islam, Violence on the rise in every country where these islami people go
African dictators and Constitutional change to remain in power and die in power; and unreliable politicians are the root cause of most political unrest in most African countries. From the ideals of certain speakers on Senegalese political protest. The are many similar countries facing similar scenarios . A typical example can be seen where one and same president alongside his ministers / governors had been in power for over 41 years ( precisely Republic of Cameroon). “as if its their ancestral property off by the almighty God”. The consequences of the use of military, police force, National gendarmerie force and others, to stop peaceful protesters will always result to violence.
My deepest sympathy to the bereaved Senegalese families who lost their love ones due to political protest.
Causes of Dictatorship in most African Nations governance is centered on bad constitutions; which gives the president in power to be the chief of all arms of government (Manages and takes decisions alone, sign set of decrees and use it as a constitution to rule a country,. Frequently changes of constitutions that favor them to remain power ). Secondly the Nature of some corrupt opposition politicians “( The bought and sold politicians by dictators)” who failed to be consistent in their political ideology relating democracy.
“Time has come that most African countries with such bad constitutions which are single handle (own and manipulated) as personal property by dictators shall be uncalled for, And that transition shall be through very stable , regular, well mobilize/organize and massive peaceful protest”.
What’s sonko???
What people are missing to identify as the reason for all this chaos, is France 🇫🇷, as a Gambian I knew he messed up badly when Ousman sonko ran for president the last time presidential elections , he ran on removing France from Senegal and demanding that the nation’s wealth stored in France be returned, I knew he lost the election and lucky that in these recent times he probably wouldn’t be assassinated but since that speech all these accusations and problems started rolling in for him. France isn’t gonna give its colonies that still pay it trillions of dollars every year
