Guinea’s coup leaders have replaced regional governors with military officers and released political detainees after they deposed President Alpha Conde on Sunday.
Coup leader Mamady Doumbouya promised a “new era for governance and economic development” but did not say when or how this would happen.
The bloc of West African nations or ECOWAS will discuss the coup in Guinea in a virtual session.
