Explosions and air raid sirens have been heard in the Ukrainian capital while a delegation of African leaders is in Kyiv, hoping to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia.
They’ve also visited the city of Bucha, where Ukrainian authorities say more than a thousand civilians were killed in Russian attacks last year.

French President Emmanuel Macron is holding talks in Paris, with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
They’re expected to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the political standoff in Lebanon.

Protesters have rallied in four Greek cities. They’re critical of how the government’s been handling a migrant boat accident that left at least 79 people dead.
They accuse authorities of being complicit, because they haven’t created safe and legal ways for people to seek asylum.

Communities in central Nigeria are searching for the bodies of victims of a boat accident.
They say there’s been no government help, since the boat sank on the Niger River four days ago.
So far, at least 100 bodies have been recovered. It’s believed the boat was carrying about 300 people.

Two months of fighting in Sudan has caused widespread suffering for millions of children.
UNICEF says at least 300 children have been killed and nearly 2-thousand have been injured.
More than one million have been forced from their homes.

Pope Francis has left a hospital in Rome, after recovering from stomach surgery.
The head of the Roman Catholic Church had an operation last week, to repair a hernia and remove intestinal scar tissue.
The Vatican says there were no complications.

South Korea has recovered part of a rocket used in North Korea’s failed launch of its first military satellite.
Salvage teams have been searching for the booster and the satellite, after it fell into waters off its west coast last month.
It’s hoped the fragments could shed light on North Korea’s long-range rocket development programme.

Cyclone Biparjoy has caused major damage along India’s west coast after making landfall on Thursday.
At least 22 people have been injured.
Power lines are down and many homes have been damaged.
Winds have reached 140-kilometres per hour.
But the storm is said to be getting weaker as it moves north.
