A landslide 25 miles south of Los Angeles prompted the evacuation of a dozen homes with even more houses under constant watch. The cause is still under investigation pending a geology report. NBC News’ Steve Patterson has more details.

A housing complex in a place called “Rolling Hills” what could possibly go wrong?
Yeah, they have mobile homes now 🤣
@Will GThey’re rich, they’ll be okay.
@🛸⚫ Night Buzz , wow, what a sad person you are, what kind of parents raise people like you….?! 👎🏻
@Network126 , Oh, so, now you know them personally, you know their financial situation, really…..??! 👎🏻
Excellent
“Severe land movement is isolated”. History says no! This is not the first time this has happened in Southern California. You just have stupid builders with short memories.
“Stupid builders with short memories” and fat wallets….
The ravine behind these homes should have been a reminder.
Right?! It’s normal for locals to hear about the cliffs in the Palos Verdes peninsula and San Pedro falling into the ocean
So sad 🔔🚪🛎️🔏🔥😭 0:16
This is one of the reasons why whenever you are either building or buying on a hillside, there will always be the danger that the hillside will give way; I don’t know that there is any insurance that you can buy in case something like this happens, and if there is, it’s probably way too expensive!
They’ll rebuild and sell on the exact same spot
Yes, that’s what investors will do ✅
The ravine behind them might have been a good clue to begin with.
Newsome too busy worrying about looters rights.
In Californa if you build on a hillside or cliff. Expect it to move.
Not covered by homeowners insurance. 😢
So very scary! So sorry these people are going through this!
Good thing there is plenty of tents in San Francisco to move into.
That why it’s called Rolling Hills, watch your house roll down the hill.
🤣
These ppl are super rich and can buy two more expensive homes. If, they don’t already have it.
If they’re super rich then they wouldn’t be THERE 😏
One of the homeowners finalized purchase of the house two weeks ago. Smart move to sell
10 ft a day!?!
I’m in the process of buying a house I’m not looking on the hills or in the woods I’m staying in the city where only an earthquake can get me !!
And the criminals.
I guess she likes Rice Krispies.
G l o b a l w a r m i n g 💀
California has all most everything. Haven’t see a tornado yet.
A repeat of Sunken city
One should build an expensive home in Stable Hills. Avoid the Rolling ones.
Good one
Rolling Hills………..
What devastation! Looks like something that Joe Biden touched.
I feel sorry for the people who lost their homes, but maybe they will think twice next time to “not” buy or build a home on a cliff or hillside, especially here in California.
Now dozens of nearby homes will be unsaleable! And it’s not over yet! It could get worse!😬
This winter season coming up will be one of the wettest on record.
coud not happen to a better place nice to see
Did this guy say ROOFSH? SHOUTH? HOMESH? CAUSHES? FISSHIRES? CALIFORNIASH? SHOON? What is this guy doing SPEAKING for a living?? OMFG This world is upside effin DOWN
Same 12 homes will turn into 6 months of news. Rich people need your donations
Wow. Looks like there’s another thing I don’t give a crap about. It’s California. Just living there is a safety hazard alone. No clue why anyone would stay at this point. With the insane weather to the rampant drug use and homelessness. No way. Nope. Keep your sunshine state as it’s shining in places the sun don’t normally shine.
Maybe all the bull💩 in the Trump National Golf Club they’re ?
Landfill nearby???
Rolling Hills Estates.. coincidence? 🤔
2030 ???
I think they’re going to eventually evacuate that could cause a huge sinkhole.
is sinking
In these instances it doesn’t mater what God you pray to, he smote your homes.
This is heartbreaking. In the 60’s-70’s my aunt Millie lived on Chuckwagon road in Rolling Hills. Those houses are old-
Praying for a positive outcome.
This is only the beginning
That grey “soil” sticking out just looks like compressed beach sand.
Haha
Obviously they dudnt do an extensive geological survey when building these homes. In the UK this would not happen. They risked it for the £££
The universe is going to destroy the wicked people
Looks like Rolling Hills was the proper name after seeing this.🤔
COPYWRITE VIOLATION!!!
“Snap, Cracle, and Pop”
is a Registered Trademark
“Roling Hills”, huh? Seems to me there might be historical events that coined the name, Rolling hills.
It seems Maynard called it. Learn to swim, everyone!
She want some rice crispys… lol😢😮😅
Here go the insurance rates!
Bravo Mother Nature…
The nerve of that guy to blame someone for a natural disaster.
I wouldn’t buy a house on a hill. It’s common sense. 🤷♀️
Rich people are foolish
