Kenya’s government has closed schools in the capital and two other areas as East Africa’s economic powerhouse on Wednesday braced for three days of demonstrations against the cost of living and tax hikes.
Two rounds of protests earlier this month descended into violence when police fired tear gas canisters, and in some cases live rounds, at the crowds. At least 15 people were killed and hundreds were arrested.

The key to economic development is productive investment not taxing people. The government should have it’s own factories, farms, etc to creat more wealth.
Looting is the major problem in any economy. Go to counties, governors have zero investments but look into thier own personal investments. Not even a single classroom has been added to the existing ones. Nothing.

Violence is a language of the unheard. You have no idea the amount of inequality that exists in Kenya. The people protesting are not heard when they raise their voices. They are constantly oppressed by the government that’s why they turn to violence. I’m not supporting it but they’re humans. There is only so much patience you can have before going rogue
