When I was a kid in the early 70’s, a few Scientists were warning if we didn’t take steps to curb climate change we’d all be under a sheet of ice by the year 2000. They needed hundreds of Millions of dollars, to start work on their project to save us all. Well the money never came, and look we’re not under a sheet of ice. Go figure. The most recent proclamation’s that many Scientists agree that global warming will be our doom, are hand picked because they agree with the company line, and want grants. You notice I didn’t say they actually Believe we can do anything to change the weather. The Earth is a Self Regulating System. They know that. We humans are like a spec of algae on a whales back to the earth. That spec of algae doesn’t slow down the whale, or direct it’s actions. This is all a money making / power grab scam.

So if reducing the amount of “carbon” in the atmosphere is so important, why isn’t the first step to get China and India to reduce their CO2 output like the US did under the leadership of President Trump? Why aren’t we looking into power generation technologies that have a minimal carbon footprint but a maximum power output like nuclear reactors? The carbon capture technology they talk about in this video is real and does work, but how much power does it require, how efficient is it, and where is the power coming from? How much capture will be possible? Will it be cost effective? And most importantly, will it make a difference?
These are the questions that need answers before the public will support any effort such as the IPCC is proposing. Despite the science showing that CO2 is NOT the major driving factor of our climate and despite the raw temperature data showing that we are in a cooling trend, not a warming trend, propositions like this need to be practical and not “pie in the sky”.
U do realize that China annually spends 80 Billion USD compared to USA’s 40 Billion USD on renewables. Also China and india each have a population of 1.4 Billion so on per capita basis their carbon footprint is much more lower than USA’s.
China energy consumption is 7.38 tones per capita , India is just 1.91 tones per capita compared to USA 15.52 tones per capita.
Also historically USA has emitted the most green house gases.

All of this known data has been folded into our understanding of climate change. The conclusion is unequivocal. We’re causing the current warming by digging up long-buried carbon in the form of fossil fuels and emitting it as extra greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. And now the buildup of temperature is starting to come back and bite us. More severe and more frequent weather extremes, disastrous melting of the Arctic ice, mass death of coral reefs, and on and on. All you have to do now is look around and pay attention. And the hotter it gets, the worse it will become.

Look y’all. This shouldn’t be a political issue. The fact is that scientists from all around the world wrote this report, and the truth is, climate change is happening. It’s a *fact* that the global temperature has increased by 2 degrees Fahrenheit in the past couple centuries. It’s a *fact* that the past five years have been the hottest years on record. If you don’t believe me, I am not sure how to convince you if people who have dedicated their lives to this issue can’t convince you.
But if you do believe that climate change is happening, you need to also recognize how serious of an issue this is. Climate change isn’t something that is going to happen steadily over the next few centuries. It isn’t even something that will only affect your grandchildren. Climate change is happening *now*. The IPCC report finds that if we don’t significantly cut carbon emissions in the next 10 years, we may reach a point of no return. In 2018, we still had hope that we could limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (3 degrees Fahrenheit), but this new report finds that in even the best case scenario, global warming will exceed 1.5 degrees before 2040.
All I’m asking is that you don’t dismiss this cause because you disagree with the political ideology of people advocating for it. Like I said, climate change should not be a political issue. Read up on the issue (please, use scientific sources and not news/political sources) and come to your own conclusion. You can be on the right and still care about climate change.
And a note on the China/India thing. Yes, of course we need them to do something as well. But you can’t think like that. When you see your friend being bullied, you don’t just sit there and laugh like everyone else. You stand up for him, and you hope that others will join you. Although you have a right to be skeptical, I’d say that every country agreeing on something is pretty widespread consensus. If we can’t agree on something that every country agrees on, then what will we ever agree on?
And I’m curious—why do you think science is a cult? Science is specifically designed so that someone’s opinion holds no value. It’s designed to pursue the cold and hard truth. A scientist might firmly believe that the Sun is green, but they will soon find out that it’s simply not possible to use science to prove their claim. Bad and misleading science does exist, but I think it’s a bit far-fetched to say that, in general, “science is a cult.” It’s a bit like saying “math is a cult.”
Also, I think you bring up a really instructive point about humans producing only 4% of global CO2. While this statistic is accurate, it is also very misleading. A lot of CO2 is produced by natural causes (such as soil and oceans), but a lot of CO2 is also absorbed by other natural causes (such as plants and oceans–yes, oceans both produce and absorb CO2). Before humans started releasing lots of CO2 into the atmosphere, nature was in an “equilibrium,” meaning the amount of CO2 being produced was equal to the amount of CO2 being absorbed. In other words, the *net change* in CO2 levels was 0. But in the past two centuries, we’ve broken that equilibrium, and this has resulted in a *net increase* in CO2 levels.
Here are some numbers (note these numbers are probably not entirely accurate). Let’s say that 96 billion tons of CO2 are produced by natural causes every year, but 96 billion tons of CO2 are simultaneously absorbed by natural causes every year. Let’s also say that humans produce 4 billion tons of CO2 every year. Here we have:
– A total of 100 billion tons of CO2 are produced every year.
– Only 4% of that is produced by humans.
– The NET increase in CO2 every year is 4 billion tons (100 billion – 96 billion). That’s a lot of CO2.
– If humans did not produce CO2, then the NET increase in CO2 every year would be 0 tons (96 billion – 96 billion).

לישראלי הממוצע יתכן שקשה להבחין בין חם מאד לממש חם, אבל חשוב שנדע שאנחנו בעיצומו של גל חום קיצוני, שעל פי מומחי אקלים לא נראה כמותו מאז שנות השמונים. ואם לא נשנה משהו, זה רק ילך ויחמיר. בשנת 2019 הכריזו אלפי מדענים של האו”ם, כי העולם עומד להגיע לנקודת אל-חזור אם תחול התחממות עולמית של 1.5 מעלות צלזיוס נוספות. מאז ועד היום משבר האקלים הולך ומדרדר. מה הטבע רוצה מאיתנו?
כל הפרה של האיזון צריכה לעורר בנו סימני שאלה עד כמה אנחנו, בני האדם, גרמנו לה, והאם יש בכוחנו להשיב את האיזון בטבע אל קנו. אנחנו בעיצומו של משבר קריטי בכדור הארץ, וזהו לא רק משבר אקלים.
אנחנו עדיין חיים באשליה שאם נפסיק לשרוף דלקים ולייבש אדמות, נעצור את התדרדרות האקלים. זה פשוט לא נכון.
המחשבה של האדם היא הכוח הנעלם והעדין ביותר, אבל עם זאת הוא החזק ביותר. דווקא המחשבות שלנו הן שמשפיעות ביותר על החומר, מפני שהן הכוח הקרוב ביותר לרוחניות. כאשר אנחנו חושבים בצורה אגואיסטית, מתוך שנאה ורצון לנצל את כל מה שסביבנו לתועלת עצמית, אנחנו פוגעים בטבע כולו. כאשר אנחנו מתחברים יחד למען הטוב הכללי של כולנו, יש לנו כוח משותף עצום שיכול לרפא את הטבע.
אבל השינוי צריך להתחיל מהלב, כשהשכל הוא לא יותר ממנגנון תמיכה לרצון הלב. קשה לשנות את הלב כאשר המכות עוד “רחוקות” מאיתנו כביכול, אבל כאשר הן תגענה והאדם ירגיש שהגיעו מים עד נפש, כבר לא יהיה מקום לפלפולים.
לכן חשוב שנפנים, עולם מאוזן זה אדם מאוזן, ואדם מאוזן הוא זה שמרגיש אחראי לטבע כולו, שמבין שדווקא הוא, כיצירה עליונה מדרגות הדומם, הצומח והחי, הגורם היחיד שמפריע לאיזון הדרגות הנמוכות ממנו. האדם צריך לקרוא נכון את מקומו במערכת, להבין מהי התנהגות בריאה מצידו שתשיב את הטבע לאיזונו.
האיום המרכזי שעומד בפנינו הוא מכות טבע שיגרמו לרעב וצמא עולמי, אקלים בלתי נסבל, מגפות שיגררו את המין האנושי למצבי קיצון ואף למלחמת עולם אטומית. מזיק קטן יכול להגיע, וכל מקורות הבשר מן החי או התבואה יעלמו תוך חודש. האדם שכח כמה הוא פגיע מול איתני הטבע, וזה מה שעתיד להתרחש במידה והאדם לא יטה אוזנו לשינוי שעליו לבצע.
האם נעצור רגע לפני נקודת האל-חזור או שנהרוס סופית את העולם? האם העולם צפוי לעבור מלחמות שיחזירו אותו לתקופת האבן, בה לא נותר מהטכנולוגיה והקדמה שום דבר ראוי לשימוש, או שנחכים רגע לפני שיהיה מאוחר מידי ונעלה לדרגת קיום יותר גבוהה? זה תלוי רק בנו.
