People say oh I hate the culture at work. I hate the environment . But they’re part of the reason it’s negative. I am one of the most upbeat loving supportive managers. But my staff make the environment toxic. Trying to get them to interact with each other in a kind supportive way is exhausting. And then they complain about the environment being toxic. They are the reason. Take to work the attitude the enthusiasm and the teamwork that you desire

Cause working in an office sucks. It’s not great for everyone… I prefer to never see my coworkers again… they’re not my friends (who I can now talk to daily while working)… they’re people keen to watch for any little mistake you make and exasperate it by 10 million…. It’s like working with an army of Karens. The workplace (especially in an open office environment) sucks. At home I have quiet, peace and freedom… I’m also way more productive.
Who wants to work for jobs that never pay the bills? Before covid restaurant work was a joke and they rarely did anything for the crews. After covid restaurant work…..no thanks never again. Many will close down and I could care less.

I’m Not going back to my Full Time Job , I’m Self Employed Gig Worker… I’m making So Much Money working for Temp Agencies! So many Companies are Not Hiring Full or Part time employees,they using Temp /Staffing Agencies… it’s a High Demand for Temp Workers and it’s enjoyable because you can work different Locations/Jobs and Not be Stuck at one Full time…and one of the Agencies I work for Deposit your pay after your Shift and the other Agencies pay Weekly….My previous Full Time Job the pay was Bi Weekly in which I Hated ,😂

I left my corporate job in April after they kept nagging me to come back into the office.
When I asked why it was so crucial for me to return to office after working a year from home, they said it was to ensure I was staying productive. Not once did any of my clients complain about my quality of work and I had received multiple compliments during the past year. When I brought this fact up to my boss, she switched gears and said I needed to return to the office so I am collaborating with the rest of the team. There was absolutely no reason for me to collaborate with the rest of the “team” since all of my clients were my own.
This company did not value my work of my time, they just wanted to regain control and micromanage every aspect of my job.
Putting in my 2 weeks notice at that company was the best decision I have ever made.

I understand. When you are just as or more productive at home no reason to physically be in their building. Many of us were in traffic 2-3 hours each day and that time was just wasted. People can get more rest, help kids with homework, cook dinner, etc. Good for you.

I left my horrible job in June 2020. I realized during the lockdowns that I would rather catch covid and live in a box than stay in that place. I walked out and now I have a better job with more pay and no drama!

My son (22) has a little nest egg saved and is asking WHY do i need to start my life in debt right out of college to sit in a cubical to have a manager walk around and stare into your cubicle making motivational small talk 8-5 + sit in Traffic for 1-2hrs a day. When you can be a digital nomad of sorts working remote, living abroad. Companies that realize this, are the Companies that will acquire the best talent. I think the employees need to get over themselves these jobs and pay seem to be fine for a lot of people before the pandemic now suddenly they’re not. I understand if you are working the food industry maybe the hotel industry those types of jobs were not paying enough but a lot of these jobs are. Some jobs have CRAZY supervisors and no one’s going to deal with BAD attitudes when the pay can’t even handle the bills. Especially fast food gigs. The people in charge at these gigs need to CHANGE their attitudes.. I left in November after over 20 years. COVID protocols were not being followed and it became very toxic. Not to mention the work load became unbearable. I asked for assistance for months and I was told to work evenings and weekends. I’m 50, I was already out of the house ten hours a day. It really felt like a bad break up, but I had to get off the hamster wheel.

I just got offered a job after just one round of interviews over Zoom. My base salary increased by 15 percent and my sign-on includes a little bit of cash and mid-six figures’ worth of stock and stock options. And it’s fully remote, so I can basically live anywhere in the world that has high speed internet. I think it’s a confluence of things – the re-emergence of global economies, meeting apps like Zoom, the pandemic and an abundance of cash/revenue in certain sectors of the economy, along with lots of people suddenly dropping out of the workforce altogether. The old paradigm of getting in a car/train/bus and going to an office, to basically do what you can already do at home, is dead and the smart employers will act accordingly. The last time I stepped foot into an office was March 11, 2020 and I suspect it will stay that way until I retire.

My husband and I decided to sell our home. We have plenty of equity on it. Move to a different state and buy a smaller much less expensive home. I will continue to work remotely while my husband leaves the workforce to open his own contracting business. Which then I can quit my job and both of us work on our business together!! If companies don’t show loyalty, why should employees? For a long time employers abandoned their employees and came to see them just as a commodity to be traded and exploited, now employees have realized they can treat companies in the same way and now companies are suffering for their short sightedness

I was one who quit but I DID have a new job lined up. I just wanted out of my house and there was no sign of going back to the office so I had a rough decision to make.
I made a video on this. Disclaimer I work in service. I left because I could no longer afford to work the job I had. Cost of living increased drastically here in Atlanta. And when I try to get multiple jobs most times the schedules conflict so much that I’ll end up losing a job.
Why would you want to be cooped up inside all day? Is money really that important ? Or rather, are you willing to do a job that allows you to be outside? Will you really be able to do what you really ant to do?
