Filipino-Palestinians who fled Gaza say they are struggling to settle in the Philippines.
Nearly 60 of them returned after Israel started its war on Gaza – some after decades of living in the besieged territory.
They have been sheltering at a university in Manila But they are now being told to move.

The Ph government, while they should give better service to all citizens at all times, did not exactly do wrong to these newly arrived Filipinos. This isn’t the first time they’ve helped Filipinos return from either getting abused in the middle east or being trapped in wars like during the Taliban time. Renting a simple place in the area is not that expensive, and you can ask for donations and approach social services/ govt offices. Their rights to work, study, have medical care is the same with the locals. I understand the families are worried about their relatives still in Gaza, and there are difficulties same as what other Filipinos experience, but I’m quite weirded out by this Al Jazeera way of reporting.
No other muslim countries will take the refugees so that tells me all I need to know.
Sad, As a white Orthodox Christian, I support the resistance to occupation. Unfortunately, my Arab and African family cannot speak about this even if they are Australian born to one Australian born parent. As my niece’s and nephews and inlaws obviously appear Arab and African they would be labelled as supporting terrorism. All white Christians need to stand up for their families in the Muslim world and all indigenous people on this globe. We have migrated to their lands to seek refuge and must be thankful, kind and considerate of all life without prejudice.
I have a huge Arab Muslim family all integrated with Ukrainian Orthodox Christians. God blessed me with such beautiful family with progeny from all over the world.
My African Ethiopian family sought refuge in Kenya before they migrated to Australia. I am a proud Aunty to 8 beautiful mixed race children that all have the skin colour of their dad. They are the most beautiful children I could ever have prayed for to be part of my life. I have always prayed for suppressed world. My Ancestors are Christian Orthodox Holomodor (not Holocaust) survivors.

If you are a Christian then you know that Israel was given to the Jewish people which is evidenced in the Bible in Exodus. The Jewish people are not occupying Israel because it was given to them by God. Moses took the Jewish people to the “Promised Land” by God and nobody can change this.
I find it hard to believe that Saudi Arabia cannot stop this. This is a horror that will come back to haunt and destroy them.

You can’t be considered refugee in your own home. Mrs Alabdla has the same rights and duties like any other citizen. Refugee status are only given to foreigners. Refugees are not given the same privilege as our citizens, i.e. right to work and travel. There are restrictions attached to refugee status. And $1,300 is enough to start anew here.
If they have given up citizenship of Philippines then they are refugees .

Can’t say much about its politicians, but the Philippines is very accomodating. Whenever domestic workers are beaten up in the middle east a lot of Filipinos help the victim when they get home. I understand that after having lived in Gaza they might not have a house in the Philippines, but do they not have relatives? Naturalizing Palestinian spouses – any foreign spouse- takes a while, that’s natural. Why are they called refugees when they are in their own country? Their rights to work and study are not taken away. There’s BARMM (if they’re from the area), there’s DSWD, they can approach offices. And of course there are already so many homeless people there, it’s not easy to just get housing from the government. For basic medical needs, there are public hospitals.
Where is UN and international community.
