The powerful earthquake, that struck western Japan on New Year’s Day, caused widespread devastation and killed more than 80 people.
But observers say the damage could have been far worse, if it hadn’t been for the way Japan prepares for disasters.

Japanese faced earthquake very bravely , otherwise the death toll was to be at alleviated levels, 7.2 is a high magnitude 😊
Elevated means a higher amount ,raise to , more . Alleviate means to make less severe.
I don’t mean to offend, 🥂🇨🇦
🎉
The cause nd foundation of the earthquake problem is Italy nd France Paris, America, Napolitano, Napoli, Taranto, Torino, Sardegna, Rome* ////////

Japan is a beacon to the world on how a society conducts itself and treats all with respect. I bow to all of Japan 🇨🇦❤️🇯🇵
That’s what you think
@@celinalambo7474 everytime I used to visit my grandmother she would express her disdain for the Japanese as ” they ” had killed my granddad during WW 2 . Eventually the past must be left in the past , otherwise we as humans will never be able to move forward and every Nation will be hated for atrocities done in the past .
Yes Japan can teach us many things on how to think and be concerned and considerate during disasters and every day life .
Yes ,That Is what I think . Japan has learned from and corrected many mistakes
Only my opinion . , cheers 🥂🇨🇦
HAARP
Imagine Gaza
I promise there’s more than enough compassion to go around. No one’s forgotten Gaza simply because they acknowledge Japan’s loss. That’s childish.
Did you know that earthquakes are natural. Why artificially try to save lives instead of letting nature take its own course of action?
>increasingly unpredictable
How exactly are earth quakes becoming increasingly unpredictable?
This is the second time I’ve heard from foreign agency on the nature of the building codes, the thing is, there is no requirement for retrofitting and it is not likely we will enforce further retrofitting on buildings that have withstood without achieving the need to be condemned, this earthquake since it is typically an onerous cost on individuals and home owners however, since there is likely to be a surflux of condemned properties, we can in fact require that the laws are strictly implied and rigorously undertaken as has been the practical result in the case of similar emergencies in the past. And typically, this is why you see only some buildings collapsing. The logic has been that over time, across the entire country, that eventually through a progressive system, the country will become more highly resilient to disasters. This exception was granted in 1987. But it is appropriate to acknowledge, ofcourse, that structural rigidity is only one aspect of home integrity, certainly, other factors exist that might affect stability and quality of manufacture in a home or other building. Since ofcourse we cannot demonstrate a fullproof system, we cannot say with ultimate certainty what will work best, only what does not work and frankly, a lot of regions with diminishing populations have become less the focus of observance of such codes. The story, is actually long and frankly, the focus of many general symposiums often from disaster to disaster and spawning, many different solutions over many decades. There ofcourse in many circumstances is things like the aspect of cultural reflection to observe, for instance, Kyoto has a population of only 1.4 million despite being a cultural capitol but since it is so close to the same fault that effected the 1994 Bay of Osaka tectonic shift, it has clear limitations on height of development. I have recently commissioned a 2bn$ palace to be built in Kyoto and right now we are looking at our options but this typically signals a broad range of aspective changes in a region. So, we do a lot of things in this regard and there are signs of these things but they are not necessarily ‘public knowledge’. Kyoto as a tourist destination is also, a challenge and characteristically, many people advise to avoid Kyoto because of its limited capacity to admit people from time to time. Like I say, there is a lot going on here, on this and the other… it is not all ‘on wikipedia’.
What I think is interesting as an insider is, Reuters had file footage and an interview with a man carrying three pairs of shoes. A typical generational response, one pair for any occasion. So, it is not as if the older generations are not by degrees, emotionally hardened against the risk that prevails in decisions they have made for whatever reason but ofcourse our aim is simply to correct the damages as quickly and efficiently as possible. In a way, more fundamentally as a demonstration of capitol capacity. It is important to remember that this has been declared ‘force majeure’ and as such for the most part, nobody is in any grave danger of criminal liability or predominantly at fault. So, the signs are everywhere. And I suppose, to know, you would have to be Japanese. It’s a ‘Japanese thing.’
