For a couple years I picked up a second job doing taxes at one the the biggest companies. Just a seasonal job to make ends meet for my tax paying family with four kids.
I was shocked at how many non custodial parents tried to file taxes ASAP during tax season. They made sure they got the child tax credit before the ex who actually supported the kids.
Glad that the deal passed, but middle income taxpayers are sure shouldering the burden for a bunch of deadbeats (mostly dads)

Funny bc in my life it’s my stepsons mother who is the slacker parent always wanting the child tax credit even tho she was only seeing the child less than 50 days a year. Usually dads but often can be moms too.

There’s one portion of the 2017 tax cuts that people are not aware….the doubled standard deduction is set to expire in 2025 and revert back by half!!! That means that if they don’t extend it, a whole lot, and I mean a whole lot of people from the working class will end up paying a bunch in taxes!!!

The wealthy benefited far more than the average taxpayer, from that package.
The doubled standard deduction will revert back by half but the exemptions that were previously eliminated will also return if the 2017 tax cuts are not extended, people owed more taxes with the 2017 tax cuts than prior to the change, I know I did, it did not benefit me at all.

Giving out tax credit for people with kids is the same thing as students getting their loans payed off. You shouldn’t be getting free money just because you made a decision the rest of us didn’t.
So I guess we should get rid of social security, Medicaid, medicare, food stamps, section 8, unemployment insurance. Why don’t we just get rid of all social programs by your logic and just become 100 percent capitalistic society.

What about a flat tax. Everyone pays the same percentage of their income regardless if they make a million dollars or a thousand dollars…..but I guess they wouldn’t be able to pit people against others.

Some of the loans must have monthly interest paid while you’re in school or interest is added to capital and compounded meaning 10K in loan can become 30K in principal really fast. I meant interest is compounded and added to principal.
Anyway, it’s a stupid way to handle money. And 25% or more of initial 10K went for insurance in case of default on loan. So bank had no risk to loan money and who got the up front “insurance” money
And if someone dropped out for medical disability reasons, the schools pocketed rest of years’ tuition. Rackets between schools and banks and between Congress and banks. Corporate welfare, much???

My best advice is try to find an honest church community and start attending regularly while praying regularly to be delivered from evil. Our society did not get to this point overnight and it will not get better overnight. The forces of evil are on the rise and many are being directed by the evil lord himself. It is not just the system it is the heart of the people. It is important to realize that you yourself need to start by getting your own heart right with God.
