The two hostages rescued from Hamas, Fernando Simon Marman (60) and Louis Har (70), reported that they had not received medical care while in captivity and had been starved by the terrorists. Their families said that they suffered from malnutrition, unhygienic conditions, and lack of medical care.
The lack of medical care was particularly significant for Har, who requires medications to treat his blood pressure and diabetes.

The most basic rights of any human being are food, water, and shelter… In 2024, the Palestinians live on their land in plastic tents or on the ground. Most of them do not even have tents… and they are starved on their land to the point of death. I saw a video that I cannot forget, of an infant who is a few months old. He is starving and his mother does not have any milk, so she was forced to give him half a date, but he suffocated. All this while the occupation enjoys the resources of the Palestinians’ land.
