Without that, Isreal’s response in Ghaza would have been even more extreme.
Ironically, just cutting Isreal off would have meant that the US had no leverage.
And of course, the right-wing in American domestic politics and the Evangelicals would have gone nuts over that and blocked all govt funding and shut down the government.
Because they, like the International court, lack jurisdiction, but at least the American judges understand that.
