The Israeli forces have stormed the largest medical facility in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Nasser hospital has been under siege for weeks.
These are scenes moments after it was shelled overnight.
Israeli soldiers then launched their raid, forcing everyone out, including patients in intensive care and families sheltering from Israeli attacks.
Israel has issued a statement saying it is conducting a “precise and limited” raid on Nasser Hospital. Without providing evidence, it added that the decision to storm the compound was based on information that Hamas fighters were hiding and had kept captives in the facility.
Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum is in Rafah city in southern Gaza and Hamdah Salhut is in the occupied East Jerusalem for the latest updates.

Additional provisions of Article 19 still allow a hospital to be protected if it defends itself or has some small arms and ammunition taken from the wounded.
