The UN warns that everyone in Gaza is facing famine-like conditions, and people are risking their lives to reach aid trucks. Israel’s blockade also threatens a vital source of food, as fishermen are fired upon while trying to catch fish off the Gaza coast. With small mills grinding to a halt and the price of wheat skyrocketing, many Palestinians are close to starvation. The international community must act to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza.
