I don’t think this is any different from when I was young. We were angry about the Vietnam war. We were afraid of nuclear annihilation. We didn’t want to raise children in a toxic hate filled world. Inflation/interest rates made it virtually impossible to own a home unless you were wealthy. I was living paycheck to paycheck working multiple jobs just to pay the rent, put gas in my compact car and eat tuna sandwiches.
I hope the current and future generations hold on to their dreams and values and don’t let go of the aspirations that feed the protests against racism, war, pollution, global warming, homelessness, etc.
Without the anger we become complacent and just make do when we REALLY need the momentum to keep pushing forward!
That’s crazy cause in 1981 the people that lived a few doors down from me were able to buy a house for $167,000. right now that exact same house is for sale for $535,000. If you don’t understand how much the has changed since Vietnam era and how much worse everything has gotten becaue of the repubs. you haven’t paid attention to anything. The wars we have now are so much worse, the prices we pay are so much worse, the medical assistance we have is so much worse, housing assistance we have is so much worse, the food assistance we have is so much worse the homelessness has skyrocketed the bankruptcies due to Medical dead. Like even in 1990s my dad was able to work a full-time job his wife was a stay-at-home mom they own two cars they rented a house they sent two kids to college and now at the exact same job, you can barely pay rent in the same city.
Don’t forget during the time you were talking about the average American took 2 weeks vacation every single year and now the average American cant afford a $500 emergency

That’s true & many young adults feel the same way. There are well established methods to break free of the bondage of bad government policies, however. Tried & true methods that take the path of apprenticeships. It’s slower but more righteous & its character development + gaining real world experience you’ll never get in a classroom or from a parent just giving you what you didn’t earn. That’s how America was built, before the pandemic of political correctness. Just a suggestion. Take it under advisement… or don’t.
