The Golden Age of Air travel, accounting for almost 50% of air pollution. There were no losses. Losses would be if they lost something. They just didn’t make what they wanted to make. So governments took the people’s money and gave it to the airlines to bolster profits artificially, which only helps the stock market look good. But all this financial manipulation is just smoke and mirrors to hide the rich and big business taking up all the cash. It is a complete lie that social distancing is impossible on a plane. As the video makes clear, at some moment the desire to make more profit takes over safety. So don’t fly. All that sanitizing and distancing has simply stopped in the land based world. The airlines will just start cutting corners and stuffing planes like always to maximize profit, but making a little less would not bankrupt, but simply disappoint them.

With rumors of a vaccine on the horizon, plane levels may be back to normal by next Summer. Today Emirates posted that they will be flying the ‘grande dame’ of all airplanes, the A380, to London which sparked a barrage of flattering comments to the airline. I can speak regionally that planes will be flying 100% seating by August in the Gulf. Passengers are willing to fly, and normalcy means the A380. Kuwait is scheduled to open their airport on 1 August and already there is high demand waiting to depart, although you must consider that its 50 degrees Celsius.
There may be a very brief surge of travel from Kuwait simply because of the number of expats who lost their jobs…. But I don’t think International tourism by residents will resume JUST because of the temperature. Also by the end of August the temperature will reduce to high 30s low 40s
I sometimes wonder where tourism industry will lead to, perhaps the moon, mars or space hotel looking at earth.
When we finally have a vaccine, or a proportion of people get the virus and develop some kind of immunity, the virus will die, or Atleast not be so deadly.
Social distancing, masks, pre-packaged food etc won’t be a big issue, and airlines can return to normal, unless, things like cutting back on food is really just airlines using the pandemic to cut costs.
Everyone is talking about “new normal” and how we need to adapt but in reality, it’s more of a “temporary arrangement”. The vaccine is coming, so these precautions and advisories and social distancing has no reason to last in the long term.
+That is life folks, nothing is guaranteed nothing at all total mystery for every person on this planet. In fact, everything will bring some sort of repercussions, because of the pandemic. But we will learn how to servive and get use to it, that will be the normal through time. Just smile and say out loud I can do this and win.
I have no sympathy for the airlines. They spent all their profits on stock buybacks, bought too many planes, crammed more people into them, added fees for everything outside of breathing air, chose profits over safety, and then they want a bailout. Let them go under. Boeing won’t be hurting that much as they get lots of government contracts. Yes there will be a re-adjustment for the travel industry and it’s long overdue. I’ve put off many trips because of the overcrowding.

After 911 came the frisking, taking off shoes, scanning and restrictions on what we can carry on board an aircraft. With the CCP-19 we have longer lines, temperature checking, no snacks served, extra documents, social distancing and quarantine etc. What a bore. Someone I know has been stuck here in Canada for 5 months and has to go back to work in South Asia. He got off-loaded from his flight yesterday because he had a temperature of 99.3 Fahrenheit, whilst lugging around four suitcases in the heat and wearing a thick mask for over an hour straight.
He woke up this morning with a temp of 97.8 F this morning. And has to pay $150 “no-show” fee + $1200 (the minimum difference in fare until at least September).
His cabin was supposed to have only 4 people, including himself.

Before the pandemic, air travel was heading for a fall as it couldn’t continue to increase in passenger numbers, in flight numbers, and cheaper flight costs.
Environmentally, this ever increasing amount of flights couldn’t continue not only for environmental reason but, as the report showed, tourist hotspots were getting flooded by the amount tourists arriving, turning the locals against tourism as it had reached the point where the locals couldn’t live their lives.
Edinburgh, last year, was so bad that those who live there were up in arms because each season of events were merging into one where there was no respite from the vast amount of tourist… they were even getting ignored by the council and the organisers of the tourist events when they complained. They were even being made to apply for access to get into there homes to get past the security for the events!
Now, those same event organisers and local businesses wanted those snubbed locals to ‘help’ by using the restaurant’s, cafes, shops as the tourist were not able to come… as those businesses struggle due to the pandemic and the downturn caused by it. Can you blame the locals for not wanting to venture out and help save them? I can’t…

Flying is a privilege not a necessity. Shows why we take going somewhere for granted. However, the airlines are the ones dictating or manipulating people by telling them to fly with them to this destination or that destination . Brainwashing advertising
There is little value in making 4-5 year predictions on passenger numbers when the current situation is so unknown. There is promising news on vaccines coming out currently. If they work then Covid could be cleared up next year. Or they might fail and it might mutate and we could be stuck with it forever like influenza. My point is no one knows so giving forecasts on flight numbers 5 years out is utterly pointless.
