The Taliban has taken complete control of Panjshir province, the last area in Afghanistan held by resistance forces, says the group’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid. Pictures on social media on Monday showed Taliban members standing in front of the gate of the Panjshir provincial governor’s compound. There was no immediate word from Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the opposition group resisting Taliban forces. The first civilian flight has left Kabul’s airport since the Taliban took over Afghanistan. The airport has not been operational since US troops finally withdrew last week. It has now been repaired with the help of technical teams from Turkey and Qatar. Pakistan is warning of the increasing threat of the Islamic State in Khorasan Province, ISKP (ISIS-K) and the Pakistan Taliban. On Sunday, two Pakistani soldiers were killed in the first border incident since the Taliban re-assumed control of Afghanistan.
