Mexican prosecutors are investigating what President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador called the “execution” of five men in an incident that has sparked outrage from human rights observers. Media outlets released a video on Tuesday, appearing to show a group of soldiers pulling the men from a crashed pick-up truck in Nuevo Laredo, a border city in the state of Tamaulipas. Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of a “barbaric act” in his first public comments on the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam, which has caused widespread flooding. Iran has unveiled its first-ever hypersonic missile, Fattah, which it says can penetrate missile defence systems and will give it a military edge. State media on Tuesday published images of an unveiling ceremony, attended by President Ebrahim Raisi and senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), with the domestically made black missile visible.
