Moroccan rescue workers edge closer to child trapped in well

Rescue teams in Morocco say they are getting closer to reaching a young boy who fell down a 32-metre (105 feet) well. He has been trapped since Tuesday. Crews say that they are less than 2 metres away from him now. A team is digging out part of a hillside in a delicate and dangerous operation to reach the five-year-old. Rebel attacks kill more than 20 DRC soldiers

In Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), thousands of people have been forced from their homes because of fighting between the army and the rebel group known as M23. On Tuesday, an army position was attacked in Rutshuru, north of the city of Goma. M23 is widely believed to be backed by Rwanda and is one of more than 120 armed groups operating in eastern DRC.
