Germany is gearing up to become the world’s third-largest military spender after the United States and China. As NATO members ramp up military spending after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a German parliamentary report has suggested the German military is lacking everything from heavy equipment to warm underwear. China fears: Taiwan considers extending army conscription

Rebel attacks kill more than 20 DRC soldiers

In Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), thousands of people have been forced from their homes because of fighting between the army and the rebel group known as M23.
