The Russian President Vladimir Putin met his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron over Russia-Ukraine tensions. Putin described the meeting as “useful and substantive”. US President Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has said the United States government has told Russia “there will be consequences” if Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny dies in prison. Biden has denounced his treatment as unfair. Navalny’s health is rapidly deteriorating, and he runs the risk of kidney failure, according to his doctor.
