Nagorno-Karabakh: Armenia, Azerbaijan in Moscow for talks

Foreign ministers of both countries are holding talks in Moscow to resolve the weeks-long border conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. It is the latest effort to end the worst flare-up in violence between the two for over a quarter of a century. Armenia’s leader says he is ready to resume peace talks but the Azeri president seems to be backing a military solution to the conflict for now. Hundreds of protesters injured as anger simmers in Beirut

Outrage over Tuesday’s explosion in Lebanon’s capital has spilled onto its streets as thousands of people rallied – furious at the government. At least three Beirut hospitals destroyed, two damaged

Dr Mirna Doumit, president of the Order of Nurses in Beirut, said three of the city’s hospitals had been destroyed in the explosion in the port area. “So we had to evacuate patients who were in those hospitals to others. In addition, we have two other hospitals that were partially destroyed. So it was a catastrophe and a big hit to the healthcare system, which was already bleeding,” she told Al Jazeera from the Lebanese capital. “We lost three nurses working in the hospitals. Coronavirus: UK declares ‘serious and imminent threat’

The UK has now declared the coronavirus a “serious and imminent threat to public health”. A medical centre in England has been temporarily closed after at least one staff member tested positive for the virus on Monday. The British government has introduced new powers to deal with the outbreak. Under new measures, people with coronavirus can be forcibly quarantined and will not be free to leave, while scientists in London work on a possible vaccine.
