At least nine people have been killed in the latest clashes between members of rival ethnic groups in India’s northeastern state of Manipur, police said, as security forces pressed on with a hunt for illegal weapons.
Violence between members of the Kuki ethnic group, who mostly live in the hills, and Meiteis, the dominant community in the lowlands, erupted on May 3, sparked by resentment over economic benefits and quotas in government jobs and education reserved for hill people.

So many northeastern communities are in the frontline defending against external threats, and their houses are burning, looted, families are raped while doing that, and both communities make accusations. Please don’t quote the news in wrong ways without the fact finding, the situation didn’t erupt after the court verdict for ST, the fact is the kuki people are helping the illegal immigrants from Myanmar and encouraging the poppy plantation in the kuki dominated areas of manipur, this are the core issues that has been burning since long time.

To gain a deeper understanding, let us try to imagine a scenario in which Kuki individuals enter the Meitei-dominated Imphal East district and are shot dead by Meitei people, claiming they came to kill them. In such a case, it is highly likely that a significant number of Kuki individuals would have lost their lives by now.
These observations highlight the importance of critical thinking and encourage us to refrain from promoting baseless accusations. We must engage our intellect and reject the propagation of harmful narratives. Instead, let us strive for unity and work together to find solutions. The path of spreading hatred and division will not benefit us, our families, or our future.
We must recognize the seriousness of these propagandas and understand that they can lead us all towards disaster.
